Adidas drew on decades of footwear design when it sat down to create the Blauvelt Men’s Snowboard Boot. This medium-stiff boot was designed to tackle the nastiest freeride terrain on earth while giving your foot a supportive, natural-flexing environment to live in as you smash down the steeps.

The Blauvelt’s synthetic leather shell was inspired by Adidas Football’s premier models, the F-50 and the Predator. Adidas used a traditional lace system because it’s lightweight, easy to use, and easy to repair. The transitional scaled laces and locking hardware provide dual-zone tightening for a custom fit.

The Active Heel Harness promotes natural heel flex and holds your heel firmly in place. The removable liner uses merino wool to wick moisture and fight odors, and Adidas even added recycled coffee grounds to the liner to further fight odors.

The footbed is made with Aerotherm, a nanotechnology thermal barrier, for added insulation. The base of the footbed is made with Adiprene, a high-density foam that cushions impact and absorbs shock. The sole’s Continental wet/dry rubber compound provides optimal grip in all conditions.

Adidas finished off the Blauvelt with a Recco reflector, which doesn’t replace an avalanche beacon but can help rescuers find you in any emergency.
