The Floe Solar Lamp comes from the talented hands of award-winning designer Tomoko Azumi. Even when it’s not turned on, the matte porcelain will add character to any contemporary space. But this elegant lamp has another ace up its sleeve: its ecological sensibility! It will charge using the cheapest source of power and one that will probably not go off during our lifetime: the sun.

Turn its panel towards the sun (you can even tilt it various different angles to follow the light) and leave it there for 6-12 hours so it can fill its three AAA NiMH batteries (included). After that, just turn it on and enjoy 8 hours of 100,000 Lux white LED light flowing through all its surfaces. And if you’re going through a rainy or cloudy season, the Floe Solar Lamp will happily charge through its USB cable. Another of those “style-meets-function” items that have become the trademark of Japan!
