Killay, which means ‘iron’ in Quechua is a lamp whose geometry and materials evoke minimalism and simplicity. A slim piece of oak in a dodecagon steel body. Light emerges magically. It stays off while the oaken arm remains horizontal. As the lamp is rotated, the light intensity increases until it reaches its climax, coinciding with the pole in a vertical position. The tension generated from the stillness, the perennial equilibrium and the magic of light transform it into an object of desire. Killay belongs to Kinetic, the first collection from Singular Design which redefines the way people interact with lighting objects through movement solely by touching, waving and even swinging. The microprocessor and first-rate OSRAM LED bulb have been exclusively designed to meet the conceptual, functional and kinetic needs of Killay. The piece is available in solid steel and brass finishes with oak and weighs 3.3 kg. The bulbs required are 21x Osram Duris E5 – 2700K – CRI 90 with 7 watts, USB Type C 5v – 2A. The piece can the dimmed by rotating the lamp. It will be delivered in a wooden black box with inner Finecell foam.
