I feel what you’re saying, but I sadly have very little room for allowing people to remain shitty after they are grown. I am understanding through your 20’s but after that, I’m not sure blaming your upbringing is anything less than a cop out. My upbringing was shitty, full of neglect and abuse and I worked my ass off to be the human I am. It’s a choice. I know it is because I’ve chosen, so has my Brother and countless other people I know with shittier situations than me. I realize it sounds harsh, but at what point do we take control of our lives and stop pointing the finger at other people?
