You need to change the chime with its internal PSU and put in a transformer.

Had a quick look at the info on your chime here https://nicorlighting.com/product/18888-prime-chime/

Which tells me your chimes internal PSU is rated at 12VDC 6mA output. This works out to 0.1W.

The Eufy doorbell FAQs say the doorbell needs 16-24VAC at 30VA, so needs a higher voltage, needs AC not DC that your chime produces, and needs a higher power rated transformer (30VA or around 24W minimum.)

Edit: something like this, assuming you are in America with 120VAC 60Hz mains https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07L9X9V57/ref=psdcmw_6291372011_t1_B07GND8RMQ

Probably a doorbell transformer, like this or this.

Do you have a basement? My transformer was located on a lightbulb socket like this one. I ended up upgrading from my 16v to a 24v since I have front and back doorbells, and the chime wasn't working properly. I also have a better connection with the 24v.

Thanks for the info! The transformer I am using is this: https://www.amazon.com/Thermostat-Doorbell-Transformer-Compatible-Honeywell/dp/B07L9X9V57/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=Thermostat+transformer&qid=1559249379&s=hi&sr=1-4

if I bypass (power only the ecobee I am fine, boot up no problem. I am certain the connections to the LG panel are not loose. I assume 40 VA should be sufficient?

I use this transformer for my Nest Hello. Haven’t had any issues with it.
