Netplay is totally still a thing, haven't noticed a drop in players since sm4sh, in fact its been growing steadily for a while:

This is the standard adapter,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/GameCube-Controller-Adapter-PC-USB/dp/B0089NVTDM

but you can also get
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mayflash-Magic-Joy-Xbox-Adapter/dp/B000RLWF7I

Both work great.

Conectivity depends on yours an their internet, if both are good you won't even notice your playing online.

Its Windows 8 compatible, I reccomend you check out the guide:

You could make your own since the connector was just a modified USB. The basics of it was that you cut off the end of the controller cord and replaced it with the end from a USB cable. Diagram.

Or you could go the "easy" route and just get an adapter similar to the 3-in-1 Magic Joy Box which let you plug in a PS/PS2/Xbox/GameCube controller and converted it to USB.

I prefer this: http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Joy-Box-PS2-XBOX-Adapter/dp/B000RLWF7I

Even supports all 3 at once :)

It had just the right weight to it. The batteries add that little extra oomph that the second edition standard GC controllers missed. It lasted a long time with new batteries. It withstood the most intense abuse after hours and hours of SSB Melee and Naruto GNT3. The analogs work like a charm 7 years in.

After my Wii broke down I kinda stopped caring about it, because I was playing more PC at that point. But no chance in hell am I abandoning my Wavebirds. Bought myself a Magic Joy Box adapter and I use these bad boys to this day in emualtor games (SNES, Sega Master, PSX, Mame) and PC games.

In short, Wavebirds are the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.

Sure, Link is low-tier, but don't let that stop you from playing him. Many players have demonstrated that you can go far with low-tier characters.

As for dolphin, I use a mayflash 3-in-1 adapter.

I bought this item

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RLWF7I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

on amazon, drivers worked out of the box. for win 10, there is even a "dance pad mode" in the driver software. What "fix" are you looking for?

I use this USB adapter actually. It's really useful because you can also use a PS2 controller (and XBOX, but I don't have one of them).

It was quite cheap when I bought, I don't remember it being that expensive, and I live in the UK^(By that, I mean our accessories tend to be more expensive I believe)

Xbox 360 D-Pad is pretty bad.

You should use a PS3 controller. You can use the bluetooth adapter with it, or plug it in via USB.

You could also buy a small bluetooth adapter (It costs 99 cents on Amazon) and use a Wii controller, or a Wii Classic Controller (As long as its a wireless one)

Edit: You can also buy a Controller Port to USB adapter on Amazon. It includes Gamecube, N64, SNES, PS1/2, Original Xbox, and then you can use whatever controller you want to use. If you have an SNES controller laying around, you can plug it in and play an SNES emulator. etc.

It is like this one, but also has N64 and stuff. I cant seem to find it anymore.

if you happen to have a game cube control you can use this link

This has worked great for my friends and I. It allows you to keep buying Konami pads and use them on the PC if that's your thing.

Like Nebu said, if you are playing 8 and up, consider hard pads.

I have this device and it works perfectly for ps2 and gamecube controllers. http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Joy-Box-PS2-XBOX-Adapter/dp/B000RLWF7I. The analog triggers work perfectly under windows, on linux, it doesn't recognize them as analog.

u/eternallylearning · 1 pointr/gaming

You could get one of these I guess.

I can't tell you what pad to get, but for adapters, I picked up two of the 3-in-1 Magic Joy Box adapter to hook up to my PC and they work perfectly. It has connections for original Xbox, PS1/2, and Gamecube.

I'm using the PS1/2 ports on my pads, so I can't give any specifics on using an Xbox pad or Gamecube pad. Everything was plug-n-play on Windows 10 and I just had to set the buttons in the Stepmania config and I was done.

Here's a non-affiliate Amazon link.

I use this one

Can confirm, works fine with my " DDR Champion Arcade Metal Dance Pad "

I bought this one prior to the 2-port USB adapter and it worked when I loaned it to my friend who runs dolphin off his macbook.

I really can't see why it would not work, USB's are pretty universal. I'll bring in the dual port adapter for him to test with tomorrow and let you know.

i swear when i play pacman world on console, there's subtle rumble when you stand on certain surfaces, but on emulator the rumble on my ps2 controller just seems to be constant and generic, resulting in way too much rumble when only stepping lightly... is there a fix for this? i am using epsxe INPUT cote 2.0.0 (lilypad i couldnt even get rumble to work...) and this adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mayflash-Magic-Joy-Xbox-Adapter/dp/B000RLWF7I

u/adamdavidson · 1 pointr/gaming

Try one of these.

u/mememuseum · 1 pointr/crtgaming

This doesn't have all those connections, but it has a few of them.

Edit: found this one, but they're not sold anymore. Maybe you could find one on Ebay?
