I'm on mobile so I hope this works, also I'm guessing you're in the US so I used Amazon.com, if not sorry I'm sorry, but at least you can see how it looks. I basically cut the tape in half so it's not too wide, stretch out my wrinkle and tape an x shape over it while keeping it in the stretched out position. This particular tape is hard to find here in France, so I just bought lots of random micropore/microporous medical tapes and most of them work. I find the cheaper ones work better because they are a little less sticky and won't rip off my skin. I also found that they are less flexible and so they are unlikely to move/fold within the wrinkle. Hope that helps!

Bummer! Vinegar and maybe see about a dilution of bleach. I don't think bleach has to be very concentrated to still work as an antibacterial, I know people will even do (extremely) dilute bleach baths for some skin conditions.

Another "barrier" thing that occurred to me was 3M silicon tape. My doc told me to use it after surgery. That doesn't help you if the problem is caused by rubbing, of course, but silicon is sterile and inert, so maybe if the mask material itself is the problem, it could help? Just an idea.

Edit: Also, re: using AHA and BHA - both are great! The thing to be aware of is that over-exfoliation can look just like a bad breakout. The internet mostly talks about skin getting shiny and rough, but also, straight-up acne because your skin is dry/weak. I get loose, "bubblewrap" acne if I over-exfoliate! So if you introduce too many things at once, it's pretty much impossible to tell if it's working or making things worse. So if you do introduce AHA/BHA, do it slowly and build, otherwise it's very frustrating!
