It's funny, right? How your writing just kinda takes a turn and decides things for you xD I always thought that I would write High Fantasy - I have notebooks full of... well, notes xD for at least three fantasy novels. Two of them have a strong romantic subplot... weird since I've never read real romance before until last year xD

Have you ever written anything in WritingPrompts?

also, for the fantasy suggestions, I'm going to just copy and past from the response to DamnImLost xD

>As for fantasy books, I loved A Song of Ice and Fire Series - George RR Martin needs to get that 6th book out though >:/

>I also liked The Wretched of Muirwood by Jeff Wheeler. I have not read any other books in this series, but it I plan to!

>I think my favorite book would be Abarat! omg, it's soo good and the author draws all of the art in the books/covers. Seriously they are amazing. I have not read the 3rd book T-T It's on my need-to-read list!

>What books do you like? Do you have any suggestions? Also, what have you been reading lately?:D

  3. Abarat, by Clive Barker!

If horror and whimsy can be successfully mixed, the result is this book. It's a dark, zany fantasy adventure and Clive Barker painted all the illustrations himself. It's one of the few books I've encountered that really needs a physical copy. It's gorgeous and a great story.

  4. Christmas is for reading!

My family has been waiting for The Book of Dust for years. We are huge fans! A really fascinating and richly imaginative series I read a while back is Clive Barker's Abarat: http://www.amazon.com/Abarat-ebook/dp/B0040GJDNK. Not Pullman, but then again he is unique. I also humbly submit my new novel, The Hundred, in case it might interest you. A couple of early reviewers have likened it to Pullman...which just about means I am over the moon: http://www.amazon.com/The-Hundred-Wents-Jennifer-Prescott/dp/1492842222.
