Well first, read the Amazon Reviews of Aftermath which should warn you off it and how stupidly written the New Republic's policies were that lead to the creation of "The Resistance" and the First Order.

My current plan for Star Wars Game is taking place on Corusant Day 1 after the battle of Endor and the Imps cut off the Holonet and prevent transport of passangers onto the planet after they find out that the Emperor and Vadar are dead. Replaying out the Corusant Uprising but with the group all being Edge of the Empire characters and not Rebels. Dealing with the criminal element trying to cut itself pieces of the lower levels, Rogue imperial commanders making deals and selling guns or just becoming crimelords themselves. I am also going to make the players at some point break into a fancy apartment they are told is owned by some rich Imperial bureacrat who is offworld, and it turns out to be a giant Art Collection owned by Grand Admiral Thrawn. Basically using some of the EU legends elements but they're already rendered dead, so the players can kill/change things and keep them away from the original Trilogy characters. With a thirty year gap that ends in a return to status quo anyway, there is a golden time to do whatever you want for a group.
