I use a Pleson as well, but not the C400, mine seems to work pretty well also, only lights up to let you know if the phone is on correctly(blinks once) or if the phone is on but not aligned properly(keeps blinking). There is no noise from mine either. I guess it really depends upon if you want to spend the few dollars more, but mine was only $15 on amazon. I have a pleson wireless charger as well. I do notice the ring on occasion. But I can usually wipe mine off and am good too go. I have a bear motion case
