I've been using the adapter from my defunct Kindle Fire HDX with one of my Dots; seems to be fine. I switched because I really don't like the way the Dot's adapters stick straight out, for so far. The one from the Kindle is smaller and angled at 90 degrees.
not sure.. it was the one that I ordered from Amazon with the unit though. Just says Amazon on it.
