Not sure what you consider a reasonable price but I use THIS for my slim and supposedly the 1000 model will fit as well.

I just bought this for my slim. It fits nice and snug. Has cut out holes for the power button and volume. It's $20 though. But I wanted a hard case.

This is what I use. It is very small and durable, and it can hold 3 games and 1 memory card, not including if you have a game and card already in your Vita. It's really nice to take on trips because of the durability and portability of it. I've dropped my Vita while in this case multiple times and spilled all kinds of shit all over it and there's barely a scratch on the case, let alone the Vita. Definitely the best case out there. If you want a good quality case for a decent price, then I'd wait for this one to get back in stock.

I have this case. I've dropped my vita while in this so many times and it's still perfect. I just chuck it into my backpack and go. Definitely worth $20 imo.

I only use the Vault case and slap on Nerf PDP grips

I think this case would be really good for travelling though

One of the first things I would suggest getting would be a case, whether soft or hard-sided to protect your Vita when not in use. For my 3DS I have a semi-soft case, since with it closed I don't have to worry as much about damage to the screens. For my Vita I have a hard-sided case, to protect both the screen and the sticks, since I usually put it into a backpack or laptop bag that gets jostled around. I use this case for my Vita, it also allows you to carry 3 additional games with you: AmazonBasics Vault Case

One possible addition would be a screen protector, depending on how hard you are on your devices. Personally, I don't use one on my Vita, but that's up to you.

My brother got me this one for christmas. holds 3 games and a memory card, fits both OG and slim models, and has a microfiber flap for the screen. this thing is built like a tank. heavy duty and secure.

u/VitaThrowaway · 2 pointsr/vita

I used this as my case for a very long time. It isn't Fort Knox, but it more than easily gets the job done.

I hear on the sub this case is pretty good, but no personal experience.

hey maybe you could check this case out http://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-metallic-protection-Playstation-VITA-Cleaning/dp/B0078J0O34/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416281991&sr=8-2&keywords=ps+vita+hard+case i have it on my vita and it feels pretty sturdy, i'm sure it could survive a fall in it and it comes in different colors! and you should also check this one out too http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-PlayStation-Vita-Officially-Sony-PS/dp/B00BI9MDSO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416281991&sr=8-1&keywords=ps+vita+hard+case both of these are for the ps vita 1000 though the OLED model, i haven't really seen many hard cases for the ps vita slim though. edit: i found this hard case for the ps vita 2000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Hard-Guard-Protector-Cover-Case-for-Sony-PS-Vita2000-/360916978790?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5408540c66

I have this one cuz I tend to be very clumsy (and it was on sale at the time), and I can pretty much throw it anywhere without anything bad happening to my vita, it even saved my vita when my water bottle exploded in my bag

Glad to make you laugh, was the intent lol.

I'll give you a list of accessories i have for the PS Vita that in my experience have been greatly satisfactory.

64 GB Memory Card

Amazon Basics PS Vita Armored Case

From my experience, Hori and dreamGear are really good products.

i read that the pdp trigger grip was a flawed accessory and got alot of negative reviews regarding the triggers not work half the time. So i'd avoid it till pdp comes out with a better design or you find something better.

  1. Sorry don't have a dock so can't comment on that.

  2. 16 GB could be enough if you are the kind of person who only keeps currently playing games installed. Some people have filled up their 64 GB cards, but I am pretty sure many of them just install everything they can, and only play a small portion of the installed games.

  3. Personally I'm not an indie gamer, but the most talked about indies include Hotline Miami, Retro City Rampage, Thomas was alone, and a bunch of others.

  4. I bought this tank of a case. It is sturdy, has space for 3 physical games and an extra memory card, the Vita fits snuggly inside and doesn't mess up or put pressure on the analog sticks. The same case is sold as I think Rocketfish brand which I have seen at Best Buy.

  5. Personally I am not the biggest FPS player, and love Wipeout and F-Zero so Wipeout is my recommendation. But both are good games. They look amazing, play great, have huge load times. One thing to keep in mind, is the analog sticks on the Vita travel a very short distance compared to a regular game controller. It takes some time to get used to because you will keep reaching the end super quick, which makes FPS more annoying than on a regular controller.

  6. Spyro and Crash for sure, especially since you are in the UK.

Personally I wouldn't trade in the XL but you have your reasons. I play my 3DS more than my Vita but both are great systems and have their own strengths and weaknesses.

PlayStation + is your best friend. They are very generous with their offerings for he vita each month. What games are you planning on getting? Also I would get this case: http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Heavy-Duty-PlayStation-Vita-Sony-PS/dp/B00BI9MDSO

Won't got in your pocket really, but Amazon basics sells a very sturdy case that goes fine in a bag or purse or what have you. Even a few slots for some cartridges and a memory card.

Although, now that I look at it on Amazon, you may need to buy it somewhere else

I got this one http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-PlayStation-Vita-Officially-Sony-PS/dp/B00BI9MDSO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=8-1&keywords=psvita+hard+case

I was afraid it wouldn't work for the 2000 since it's one of those "WORKS FOR 1000 and 2000!!!" ones... Ended up fitting my 2000 perfectly and the case is hella sturdy.

u/yourenzyme · 1 pointr/vita

Amazon sells the exact same thing, but is more expensive. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BI9MDSO/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_bmkttb06QN108

Wow, nice grab. First, I highly, highly recommend getting some grips. They make the vita less portable, but they also improve not only comfort but ease of playing since you're less likely to hit the rear touch pad. I have these and I'd recommend these to anybody, easily the best investment for the system I made. As for a case for the system itself, pretty much anything works well. The CTA one works well apparently and is <$10, which is always great. But the top-of-the-line one is the Amazon case. It's more expensive but the "heavy duty" in the name is definitely true. Game-wise, grab Uncharted, Killzone, and, if you like JRPGs, P4G. Those are probably the three best games on the system currently, though there is a metric shit-ton of great games to play after those.

Not really a pouch, its the size of a brick. But I love the quality and its as strong as a brick. Inside there is a slot for an extra mem stick along with 3 additional game.

My opinion is that they are worthless.

I don't use them on my phone, tablet or Vita.

They get in the way, or have issues getting rid of the bubbles.

Your screen shouldn't scratch unless you:

Have something in your pocket with them (like keys or change)

Drop the device

Rub it against something very rough

When I travel with my Vita, I keep it in this. You can find something similar or cheaper.

My 3DS, I close the lid.

My phone, no case, in my pocket. Nothing else in that phone pocket.

My tablet, I don't drop it.
