I'm not sure what shocks me more, only making about $800 a month, or the fact that you have a house for $600 a month lol.

Either way, if you're looking for something that's decent and cheap I'd recommend either the AmazonBasics High-Back Executive or the AmazonBasics Mid-Back Mesh Chair depending on which style you prefer.

But also, nothing beats a personal butt test so if you've got a large office store near you that might be the best move lol.

u/mastiii · 6 pointsr/financialindependence

I need a new desk chair, which is pretty important to me because I work from home. I've already been to my local university surplus several times and I wasn't impressed with their selection. I'm thinking about something ordering something online like the Amazon Basics executive chair. I don't even know what I'm looking for, to be honest. Or maybe a mesh back chair like this? Honestly, I'm pretty clueless. I would love suggestions on either specific chairs, or what to look for in general.

u/ToxicFuel · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

It depends, how much are you willing to spend? You can easily spend anywhere from $60 to $700+. If you're on a smaller budget like I was, then I just bought the AmazonBasics High-Back Chair for just over $100 and I'm pretty happy with it. It's certainly not an expensive chair but still a big step up from the junk one I had before.

u/MattAckerman · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I have sat in these types of chairs and i dont get it, I got a nice executive that is more comfortable then these. So to OP/anyone why do you guys like these?

Example is the one i have in link. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XBC3BF0/ref=mh_s9_acsd_top_bFfJJ_c_x_1_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=mobile-hybrid-4&pf_rd_r=38JHK8WXCA1E7HB216W2&pf_rd_t=30901&pf_rd_p=fa6bad22-78ba-5367-9cff-5e612145bd38&pf_rd_i=3733721

Just get this bad boy off of amazon.

I got it a few months ago it is great.

u/by_a_pyre_light · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'd say the market for a $729 Herman Miller Aeron and a $329 Maxnomic are completely different things. The two chairs look very different and are made differently, from core materials to the way the ergonomics are designed.

More to the point, the people saying that gaming chairs are "gimmicks" are often the ones either recommending $700+ chairs or $100 chairs, as though there is no market in the middle. It's patently absurd. It's like saying "get the GTX 750 Ti for a budget build or get the 980 Ti - forget the 770, the 970, the Radeon 390, etc. in the midrange."

All that being said, what's wrong with having a cool design in a chair? Are you guys opposed to anyone having anything besides a task chair or a cheap chintzy "executive" chair? It seems like the design and colors offend you types.

u/Marcelo_Sanchez · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace
u/conorscrazy2 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I can answer some questions lol, only the ones a have a high level of certainty.

build answers:

1&2: As far as I can tell, everything seems good concerning compatibility, the cooler situation kinda depends on
what you would rather do (finding a new cooler or just buying the mount)

3: yes that cards supports G-snync

4: as long as your not doing any usage intensive task like rendering, image editing, etc. then you should be fin with 16gb

Other answers:

  1. thermal paste is a must, but see if your build comes with it, your case should come with fans so you don't need more unless you want ones that either look better or are quieter. other that that make sure you have something to hold any screws in, and keep away from any static surfaces, i tend to work in my garage with a wood table.

  2. you can install windows 10 from a usb, heres a guide that will explain it better than i ever could lol
    ( https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/install-windows-from-a-usb-flash-drive )

  3. Witcher 3, i always recommend witcher 3

  4. this is the chair I use, its pretty comfy even after 2 years lol

Hopefully this helps, also just incase sone of my answers aren't completely accurate, wait for some other people to comment two. i would hate to give you faulty advice lol. good luck with your build my dude!

Easy to build, classic exec style, and very comfortable and sturdy

Here. I made it all white to keep with that Apple feel. You could save money on the Mic (blueyeti snowball) and the chair.

What do u think of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XBC3BF0/ref=zg_bs_12900741_1

Both highly rated and much cheaper. User feedback looks good, it's what I'd go for

u/JulietteStray · 1 pointr/battlestations

Well, on closer inspection, it is NOT my chair, but it's similar. OP's definitely looks more padded, though.

u/mewe123 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

They are, I wasn't sure what your budget was so I was throwing out the best chair on general. I've been looking at this for a bit (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XBC3BF0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_2&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER) sadly there is no head rest but, it not a deal breaker.

u/kevik72 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Is it really worth it? I didn't want to break the bank so I bought this one from Amazon. It's pretty nice. A helluva lot better than the previous piece of garbage I got from walmart.

u/Bac0n01 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have this chair from Amazon and I absolutely love it.

u/LKMercantile · 1 pointr/Flipping

I was going to recommend the current chair I have at my full-time job, cuz I've had it for a few years and like it a lot, but then I looked at the price and threw up in my mouth a bit. Office chairs are expensive.

A MUCH more economic option that I've used in the past is a model like this. This seems to be kind of the stereotypical "home office" chair. A lot of my student workers have them in their dorm/apartment rooms, and like them just fine. The high back provides good support. You should be able to find a very similar one in a local department store (Target, Wal-Mart, Shopko). They usually stand up to a lot of wear, too.

u/MassCasualty · 1 pointr/Cloud9

I bought this chair for $90 on sale a BJ's wholesale. It's really comfortable. I'm tall and love the support of the high back. The padded armrests are right where they need to be for your elbows for gaming. It's a little stiff for the recline (has some resistance) but that's pretty good. It also has this 'sticks further out' base that gives more support under your knee area...I've spent continuous hours of gaming in this chair...very nice...

Check out the Amazon Basics high back chair.

I have the Mid-Back version because I have back problems. But it has been a good chair so far. Adequately soft and tilts which is hard to find in that price range. Handrests are not adjustable but most ppl don't need it anyway.

u/trevinshu97 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I am thinking about getting the Amazon Basics High Back Executive Chair is that good? My budget is basically a $150.

u/CapnHighlands · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

It's a bit out of your pricerange but the DXRacer Formula series is great if you aren't too big of a person:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A1X7D82/ref=twister_B01A1VF336?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The chair itself is kind of narrow so if you're wide-hipped or above "average" size in any way it's sort of uncomfortable.

As far as 200 or less, I went to my local office store and bought one that was on sale. The problem with that is the cushion on the butt tends to flatten and becomes really uncomfortable for your lower back after a year or so of use.

That being said, a chair is a great investment. I used to game on a really awful, wiry chair and I could only play for an hour or so. Now that I've got this I've had multiple 8+ hour sessions, so it's a great decision you are making. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Fast AF Edit: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Back-Executive-Chair-Black/dp/B00XBC3BF0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1478331776&sr=8-3&keywords=computer+chair

That's basically what I have (just a different brand) and it works a treat. If you're looking for a solid chair at a decent price you can't go wrong. Amazon Basics is surprisingly high quality.

Another edit because I couldn't help myself: http://www.dxracer.com/us/en-us/product/1/gaming_chairs/origin_series/ That's the budget-line of DXRacer's chairs. I can't speak for their quality but it's a bit closer to your budget.

u/toastman42 · 1 pointr/buildapc

The best reviewed budget office chair is probably the AmazonBasics High-Back Executive Chair, though the Ikea Markus seems to be mentioned a lot as well.

u/encadence · 1 pointr/buildapc

Personally, I recommend this

It's cheap and you'll get more than your money's worth. I've had mine for a year with no trouble.

u/ButtlessBobbert · 1 pointr/computers
u/NoInvincibleArmies · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

This, this, and this, are some good cheap choices for a new chair around $100. For the $200-$300 dollar range, this is comfortable and well made, and this is essentially a leather chair on a swivel, will last long, but no back support. If you still want a DX Racer, here's a DX Racer chair from their Formula series, but cheaper than on their website. Lastly, this is something very similar to the DX Racer, with about the same reviews. I'll leave you to decide between those.

A little pricey but I HAD to buy this after sitting on it at a friend's place. It is the comfiest desk chair I've ever sat on. I've been using it for 2+ years and it has yet to let me down.

u/sixgunmaniac · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

To be honest, I cheaped out on my gaming chair and just went with the $100 Amazonbasics high back executive chair. I'm really glad I did because it's actually a great chair. Nothing fancy like lumbar support but it is adjustable in a couple ways but most importantly it's still comfortable after two years with no signs of wear. I'm at my desk for at least 4 hours a day (sometimes 12) either gaming or working on my degree so it's gotten the rounds.

u/tehoniehtathe29 · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Just get the Amazon basics office chair at least its "better" than this. My dad uses it and its "alright" definitely not as bad as the reviewers of the hommall gaming chair sound.

But my momma always said never cheap out on the things that connects you to the ground (shoes, tires, socks, chairs, bed) and following her advice I just got a refurbished steelcase leap v2 for like $200.

u/Lizardking3 · 1 pointr/buildapc

There's a lot of great recommendations in here for high quality chairs... if you have the budget.

I'm definitely no expert on office chairs, but if your budget is strictly around $100, the "AmazonBasics High-Back Executive Chair" that I have linked below, might be a reasonable option for you. It has over 500 reviews, with a 4.5 star rating. That many people reviewing it, must hold some value to it. For $109, with 2 day prime shipping, it sounds like a steal. Even has a solid amount of cushion.

How much does a fancy chair like that cost? And how comfortable is it?

This is basically my exact chair, would it be worth it to replace?

u/kshucker · 0 pointsr/buildapc

I recently bought this chair because I was on a budget as well.

Before that chair, I was using this chair.

My back has thanked me ever since I made the switch

Microcenter has a chair that's similar to those DX-Racers.

About 150ish if you're near one.

Otherwise, This one is comfortable and cheap.
