The DS4 is such a piece of crap. I used to buy a new one every 6 months to a year, now I just replace components as needed. 9/10 button issues are due to wear on the conductive film-

The part that I destroy the fastest is the left joystick 3D module (from ramming sprint)-

Those components have worked for me, but I can’t speak to their quality or price compared to similar products. Installing this stuff is beyond simple, and requires nothing more than a screwdriver.

Every time I started getting drift I replace the analog compartment with a 4$ piece off Amazon.

You need to buy a new rocker. Had this happen to mine, took it into my work took out the old one and soldered in a new one. Worked like new after that.

If it's not the stick deadzone setting being too low or anything to due with aim assist, then your issue is most likely your sticks wearing down the rockers inside the controller. Luckily they're not too expensive to difficult to replace, but buying a new controller outright is also an option.

This is the set of parts you'll need to get, although you won't be using the whole thing. These assemblies are made cheaply compared to the ones that come with the controller. You just need a small part inside of this assembly. The green rectangle sections open up to reveal the part you need.

This video shows how to open up your PS4 controller, but you'll really only need to watch until about the halfway point.

This video shows the spot with the issue and how to replace the correct part. Again, don't replace the whole assembly. Your dualshock will end up feeling like a MadCatz PS2 controller. Also, it requires a soldering iron and you can paperweight your controller without experience soldering electronics. You just want the little circular bits.

That's stick drift. It's caused by potentiometers in the thumbstick modules wearing out. If you want to try fixing it yourself, they can be taken off of a new module and replaced without soldering.
