Bought some 10ft powerline + cables as gifts for my family a few months ago. I get a few discount codes and some sale emails after I made an account on their website. I got this email from anker today it seemed like an okay sale no 10ft cables tho.

Anker 2nd-Gen Astro E5 High-Capacity 16750mAh is ($32.99 - $6.30 = $24.69) Not bad for an Anker battery.

The Anker 21W solar charger trickle charging in to a battery works pretty well. Use the battery as your main source of power, and top it up with the solar if in the wilderness/as a backup. The battery will easily give you multiple phone charges, and the solar panel can top the battery up pretty well. I had no problems with the panel strapped across the top of my panniers and trickle charging the battery all day.

I've got a Mophie case that works fine that was gifted to me but, if you're not dead set on a battery case, I'd recommend a portable battery pack instead. You'll get better value for your money than using a case.

Power banks he tenido un montón. Los de Anker en general como dice todo el mundo son de buena calidad, para un día de uso del PoGo te recomendaría el de 13000 mAh si lo encontrás aunque es medio ladrillo la verdad, en Amazon me aparece que lo han reemplazado con el de 16750 que es algo caro y overkill.

En este momento tengo el de OnePlus pero porque lo compré con el teléfono, sino no tiene sentido. Muy buena calidad, ninguna queja y tiene para cargar dos dispositivos al mismo tiempo que siempre está bueno.

El último que compré la otra semana que fue el Prime Day y estaba a $13 fue éste que la verdad ha sido una re buena compra. Tiene una sola salida lamentablemente, pero soporta fast charging por lo que puedo cargar un S6 en media hora mientras lo uso y desconectar en vez de tener que tenerlo permanentemente enganchado al power bank para mantener la batería al 10% (cosa que me pasa con los más chotos). Creo que el fast charging es la función que más valoro en este momento, muy útil para el PoGo ya que te vas moviendo con el celular prendido todo el tiempo.

+1 for the Anker. I prefer to use their ~16000 mAh battery pack (Amazon link) instead of the charger, but that's just me. It can supply a stratux and iPad without any trouble.

I have an iPhone 6 on it's third winter and have the same issue but my battery pack keeps it going just fine.

Your are correct and my tone in my reply was off last night, apologies. I believe at this time the power draw issue is largely resolved if you use the recommended hardware on stratux.me. The posts you read were earlier posts either before there was a recommended battery or experimentation or cheap/faulty usb cables. I too have your set up, except i have 2 mini's (old and i think draw i little more power) and have no issues with my Anker and good USB cable. If I didn't already have the anker, I'd buy the easyacc since I would like pass-through charging. Here are the ones i use with no issues:

The current consensus is represented at stratux.me, it is maintained by the software's author and continually updated. If you are looking to just buy the parts, set it up, and be done with it, use that parts list. If you are a tinkerer and see this as an ever evolving project, experiment away and report findings for the benefit of all.

I don't know about that particular battery pack, but I bought an Anker Astro E5 16000 mAh battery pack from Amazon a while back and I love the thing.

While it is admittedly more expensive at about $40, it's small and has a much higher capacity than those two Motorola things put together and has 2 charging ports. I keep it in my messenger bag and sometimes in one of my jacket's cargo pockets, and I've used it to recharge phones and Itaste CLK batteries when I couldn't get to an outlet.

Sorta related, I also have the Anker 40 watt 5 port charger which plugs into a wall and lets me recharge a bunch of devices at the same time, including the battery pack mentioned above. It's small and travels very well, and if you have a bunch of USB-powered CLK or iStick batteries or whatever, you can top them all off at the same time instead of waiting for them to charge one by one.

The quality is GREAT. They warranty it too. Been using mine for about a year now and it's still working great. I have had to have charged and discharged it at least 150 times already and it's working like new. For $50 for the top of the line they really aren't too expensive. I recommend the brand.

Anything by Anker is awesome. This one is great and affordable. I personally have the larger 20k mAh version which is bigger and more expensive but it can charge my iPhone 6s Plus a handful of times on a single charge. I also use it to charge my cameras on the go

Gotcha. In that case, I'd recommend getting a 20,000 if you're out with friends, as all of you can use one charger. Otherwise, A smaller one will do.

I purchased my Anker and now I don't know what I would do without it.

I got this one. I went from needing to stop playing after 2 hours to being able to play the entire night without worrying about my battery dying.

I've owned this Anker portable charger for a while and I had always used it with my Nexus 5 without any problems. I still use it with my Nexus 10 without any problems. When I got the Nexus 5X, though, I bought this USB A to USB C cable from Google. When I plug in my Nexus 5X, it will either:

• Charge for a few moments if I'm lucky and then the screen will flash as if I'm unplugging it / plugging it back in over and over.
  
• There will be a gray lightning bolt flashing over the battery symbol, but not actually charging.
  
• Not charge at all or make any indication it is attempting to charge.
  
  It's not the cable because the cable works fine from a wall charger to my Nexus 5X.
  
  It totally sucks because I use this Anker charger heavily when I travel on long international flights. I've almost considered going back to my Nexus 5 because this is a dealbreaker for me.

This is the one I use. Works flawlessly.

Thanks for the advice! I recently bought this bad boy for $30 on Amazon and it'll recharge my phone a few times during Roo. I've already added this little guy to go with it. I doubt I'll need all that power, but it'll definitely help my buddies recharge their electronics. And who knows, maybe some fellow bonnaroovian will need a charge.

$90 regular and $25 but not in stock atm, I look at the reviews, most were good, 81% good, but the rest were bad. seems pretty good to me, but the bad reviews leave me skeptical.

They're getting pretty smart about charging nowadays, I expect it could keep this up for a good while. I'd at least try it, they're cheap.

This has about 4.5 times the capacity for the same price, and it won't turn your nice thin phone into a giant brick. An external battery also has the advantage to charge anything, and often multiple things at once.

Shows it as $70. If there were offered this for $35 it's a good deal. If he got the Lenmar for $50NZD that's also better than your average NZ cost, but it does have 3 ports which could be handy.


You can get a good brand one on amazon of a similar capacity for the equiv of $30-40NZD example, doesnt ship to nz but yeah. My 11,000mah one cost me ~$30NZD.

For some reason these power banks are a massive rip off in NZ, more than the usual, and the only ones that area cheap (eg on 1-day) are the fake or low quality ones.

I have the Anker E5. It's a larger unit but it can recharge my Note 5, my iPad or any other USB device multiple times before ever needing to recharge itself.

Anker makes great products and I definitely say get one if you are worried about battery life.

I'm secretly glad that I lost this one. I replaced it with the Astro E5 which I love. It may be as heavy, but it just has better dimensions.

Keep in mind that you're sacrificing portability, but if you're sporting a Camelbak then it won't really matter. Plus, if you're camping then it's also handy for those with you over the weekend that may need it. I personally have this external, but the one I link caught my eye on a deal site and thought I would share.

I have a power squid at work and while they're well designed, they aren't exactly lightweight. The phone/tablet I charge off of a larger battery pack that keeps my smaller devices topped up. I then charge the battery pack off of one of those power cubes (through the USB port that mine has on the side) and my laptop off of the remaining plug.

In fact, I could even ditch the battery pack entirely since the power cube has 2 USB ports on the side, but I like being able to charge my portable devices at airports, on the trains, or other places where plugs aren't available.

Personally i think it'd be a PITA to carry a solar charger and given that you'll have access to power intermittently i'd just grab a Anker 16000mah power bank which is only 11oz, much smaller, and has enough to charge your iphone about 6 times. However, it's more limited to USB charging of course and you sound like you plan on charging quite a few items.
