But it does plug into the bottom and make it look longer. It's no different from the aftermarket ones in that regard. The ones you are thinking of were the same except they were on the small but weirdly long iPhone5 which is why it looked so awkwardly long with the case on.

You cannot tell me the first linked one looks worse than this one from Apple. The Apple design is ugly through and through.

Actually, this Anker case does exactly what you're looking for.

I own a repair shop. I would recommend the anker. Not the case. It will make it heavier, life proof is really not that great of a brand. Anker is awesome.

I've had this for four months and I've recommended it to multiple friends. It's definitely the best iPhone accessory I've ever purchased. I am never ever concerned about battery anymore

I love the Anker Ultra Slim 2850 mAh. But I'm a bit of a loyalist for Anker products.

Oh gosh that's really ugly. And I hate it they don't mention the battery capacity.

For those who are looking for a battery case I totally recommend this one from Anker, which is also on sale right now. I also carry it in my bag and use it from time to time when I'm out of juice and it's a really life saver, especially when travelling.

That's a good point. At this point, they are kind of screwed either way.

The battery case is absolutely ugly, and it makes your phone look pregnant or something. It just juts out awkwardly and completely detracts from the smooth lines of the iPhone. They could have easily made it thinner, while covering the entire surface area of the phone and keeping all of the lines and smooth curves. Personally, I think the way they designed it to look was sort of their way of saying a big "fuck you" to all the people who wanted more battery life. Or at least that's kind of how it comes across.
