I've had this Anker battery bank since my Ingress days and it supposedly works with Nintendo switches as long as you have the right power cable.

u/Veritasgear · 5 pointsr/Switch

My recommendations:

Lamicall stand. Extremely sturdy, folds up small, perfect for charging on the go.
I can't reccommend this thing enough. Hooked it onto the back of a seat last week while my flight was landing and had no problems with it shaking or sinking.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071D3V38H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NYgnzbZDKP2FQ

Also would recommend a good battery by anker with powerIQ, along with an anker charging cable.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K6TA748/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_s8gnzbPRKBKJ8

One more thing I'd recommend is the butterfox carrying case. Not the prettiest, but by far the most protective and capacitive. I've been able to keep my anker battery, charging cable, extra joycons and stand in the spare pocket.

And don't forget protection:

Can get 2-3 charges depending on games being played

u/Mallingong · 3 pointsr/gadgets

Here you go less than half of the price ($60), and almost twice the power (20,100mah) and it charges the same amount of devices with 2 USB Type A and 1 USB type C outputs.

Alternatively this one is 26,800mah (the largest size you can take on a plane) and has Qualcomm 3.0 charging and costs $70.

Both also have technologies to make sure your devices recognize it as a charging source so that they will charge a full speed.

And a free 18 month warranty

u/ModRobaz · 2 pointsr/Vive

I should mention that I bought a much much larger battery that's able to last for 10 hours. The one they give you with the adapter lasts abouuuut 3 hours or so, so I'd recommend obtaining the bigger one

I keep this charger in my tank bag. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K6TA748/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_DI7w5MCatJmfy

I do some camping on my bike, so I wanted something that could do multiple charges. And it has a quick charge option for charging other devices, as well as charging the battery itself.

Honestly, it's always good to have backups. First camping trip I did I used a car-type 12v and it gave out on my halfway through the trip.

In the short term for next weekend, get more batteries and charge it up (while off) on a break to keep it from going to zero or if it hits there. Anker makes really nice large batteries.

u/sobrique · 2 pointsr/TheSilphRoad

Amazon.com has them too

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-Compact-High-speed-Technology/dp/B0194WDVHI/ref=sr_1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1498821140&sr=1-4&keywords=Anker

$25, which last I checked was less than a PoGO+ but ... they're actually really useful just generally if you're ever 'running dry' on your phone.

You can also get smaller ones:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Lipstick-Sized-Portable-External-Technology/dp/B01ESN48OI/ref=sr_1_65?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1498821315&sr=1-65&keywords=Anker&refinements=p_89%3AAnker

3200mAH for $10 isn't bad. That's probably at least one full charge, maybe 2, potentially tripling your 'run time'.

Here's the full lineup:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Lipstick-Sized-Portable-External-Technology/dp/B01ESN48OI/ref=sr_1_65?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1498821315&sr=1-65&keywords=Anker&refinements=p_89%3AAnker#HLCXComparisonWidget_feature_div

or you can go for proper hardcore:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Portable-Capacity-PowerPort/dp/B01K6TA748/ref=sr_1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1498821458&sr=1-4&keywords=Anker&refinements=p_89%3AAnker

26Ah is a good healthy amount (probably >10x your phone's battery at least) and 3 ports so you can run multiple devices off it.

Charge rate is good too - it'll increase the battery level on my phone whilst I'm using it whilst playing PoGo.

u/master_of_puppets91 · 2 pointsr/Switch

I would specifically buy the 26800+ because it was approved by Nintendo for Switch use.

I just received my MBX today. I have this portable charger from anker which isn't able to charge it. But I just ordered this charger from Charmast hopefully it's able to charge it. I'm thinking it will since it's the updated version of the Charmast battery as the previous one was capable of charging the Macbook but not Macbook Pro, and this one can. I'll let you know if it is able to charge the MBX too.

u/DuFFman_ · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

This is the one I got. Maybe it's just my cables, but none give the 'Charging Rapidly' prompt. Ill have to grab an official Google A-C cable when I order a home mini this weekend and test that.

If you travel to new cities frequently grab 2 battery packs. One that can hold 3-5 charges, like a 22000mAh then grab a 2nd more compact one you can fit in your pocket like an 8-12k. Keep the big one in your backpack charging the little one when you have it on you, keep it back at the airbnb charging when you're not carrying your pack, and charge both when you get to the airbnb/hotel.

Carry the little one around with you when you're just out exploring.

My last 2 week, 1000 mile hike/trip had me recharge my big battery pack one time. Being in a new city and not able to find your way or yell at your airbnb that you'll be late sucks. Also mine lasted all that time and I was wandering around downtown seattle until 2am for almost a week before I even went to ONP.

Haven't been to Portland yet, hence how I found this thread. Going to hit there and Denver in the next few weeks. Seattle wasn't my cup of tea for relocating, I loved Olympia and a few coastal towns though.

edit: Also bring 3x the amount of usb-c/thunderbolt/usb cables you'll think you need.

This thing is killer; https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Portable-Capacity-PowerPort/dp/B01K6TA748/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1518403925&sr=8-13&keywords=battery+charger+anker

So I'm about to do a massive series of flights for work, Minneapolis to Manila through quite a few airports. I bought my Switch last night and my Zelda, but I know the battery will only last about 2.5 hours.

I have an Anker 26800 Powercore+ with the "QualComm" quick charge. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K6TA748/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My question is, is this thing going to work? I have been reading Switch articles on portable battery charging all night and they're all over the place. Some of them say using this thing with the Qualcomm charge may damage it, some say it won't do anything extra, etc.

In addition, I'm also hearing that there's a different Anker, the 20100 Powercore+ USB-C is actually the better choice, or some other Anker 26800 Powercore PD, which appears to be an older version that isn't even sold on Anker's website any more.

So I come here begging for the right info. My goal is to play Zelda on what will be about 20 hours of flying, and to do so with minimal delays in charging, or none at all if possible, and also to do so without damaging my brand new Switch.

I can still return this Anker to Amazon and get something else, I have about 12 days before my flight and I just got it.

What is the will of the people?

I purchased that power block a while ago for my Nexus 6P phone. I found that unless I really turned down the brightness it never really charged my phone, so I am not sure it will work for the switch. In turn I bought this one for my switch and love it.

Here is the battery pack. The pack should put out 5v 3amps per USB unless I've misread, however this product and ones like it tend to convert 5v power from USB to 0.8amp max output at 12v DC, but the fan should require 1.2amp of 12v DC to run on low.

Edit: I located some testing on a similar product in a review that might be helpful:

This seems to do fairly well though I'm unclear what they think their ratings are. I connected this to a 60-watt 5V Anker 6-port USB power strip (which I have verified is better than 5% tolerance 5V at 2.8A on a single port) and began to take measurements.

Max power without total shutting down:
Input 5.08V at 1.9A
Output 10.01V at 818mA
---- Or slightly closer to 12V ----
Input 5.08V at 1.86A
Output 11.33V at 708mA

Max power stable long-term:
Input 5.03V at 1.86A
Output 11.62V at 675mA
Duration - 20 minutes stable, immediately following max-power test

This suggests that this 12V adapter will reasonably provide continuous output at 12V around 670mA with the capability to have higher surge-current but at the cost of dropping more voltage. I was very pleased with how cool it ran - only slightly warm to the touch (113F on the plastic case as measured on IR thermometer). In the event of an overload it does seem to fail gracefully and "shut down" the converter (outputting about 4.5V until reset) on severe overload then "resets" if it is unplugged for a couple minutes.

Case: Butterfox or Orzly on Amazon. Even AmazonBasics is good if you don't have to carry a lot of stuff with you. Much better than the official ones from Ninty.

Orzly or Amfilm glass screen protector.

Cheap metal adjustable play stand.

An AC adapter. If you just need to charge while playing, get the AmazonBasics one b/c it's only like $11 and charges in handheld mode and playing, but if you need to play while docked or using an adapter, just get the Ninty one, as it's only like $2 more than the alternatives.

Finally, this is the Anker Battery Pack I've seen recommended, though I can't provide personal input. It is a bit pricey.

Asus and Anker

Asus if you need 2-3 recharges and a small one, Anker if you need 5-6 phone recharges or phone+laptop charges and the physical size isn't important.

I personally use the Asus one and couldn't be happier. Btw, both have fast charging.

u/casmatt99 · 1 pointr/FireflyFestival

Anker makes some great chargers, can't go wrong with one of those.

Depending on how much you're willing to spend, [this one] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0194WDVHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_D.lozb7FBYFG1) will charge your phone about 3-4 times and cost less than $25 while [this one] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K6TA748/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_8dmozb1FCNF08) is $70 but will keep you charged all weekend.

Is it just accesories? The fastest way to get charge is to go to usb-c to usb-c. Correct? But looking at the images I just see USB-A ports in the images. If i want to to do usb-c to usb-c I would have to use the port that is used for charging? But it says input? does that mean it can't output?

Just wanted some clarfication.
