What you are doing is dangerous, I strongly recommend you just throw that dongle away.

You CANNOT go from USB Type-C to any other type of port with a dongle. That is explicitly forbidden by the USB spec for good reason, as USB C can supply such high amounts of charge, converting blindly to other ports can cause fires.

The short answer to your problem, is you're going to need to buy a USB Type-C to mini/micro USB cable, and not a dongle. The cable will know it's only a mini/micro port and be incapable of charging at the full USB Type-C speeds, but it will charge your speaker properly.

The dongle you own is trying to trick the USB C cable into working with a different type of port, which is why it could be very dangerous because the USB cable itself doesn't know what type of charge to properly send.

If you want to use a dongle, you have to go the other direction, with micro/mini to USB C, which will then limit USB C to the slow charge speed that the cable can actually handle.

EDIT: Just to note, since your pictures are very vague. If that Samsung charger does not have a detachable cable, you'll also need a different charger, where the USB C cable is detachable.

Here are some suggestions to get you down to just a single charger and 1/2 cables:

Look at this. https://www.amazon.ca/product-reviews/B01EMIIFCU/ref=cm_cr_dp_see_all_btm?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=recent

"I received this product for a honest review".

I wish I could filter out reviews like that. Looking on the US site, what do i base my purchasing decision off? The 1 star review who fried his device apparently, or the 5 star paid ones?

While I have 3 of the Huawei Matedocks, I am currently using this one from Novoo a lot:

It has a slightly more practical design for me. I also like how its USB-C cable slides into a slot for transport.

If you want to keep the V20 charged and charging while watching during long viewing sessions, you can connect a PD (Power Delivery) charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable (USB 2.0 is good enough for charging PD). You hook up the charger to the USB-C input of the USB-C hub.

    I currently use this charger:

    and a cable like this:

However, for watching just one movie you don't really need that if your battery is full when you start. You will, however, see the battery drain faster than usual, because the USB-C hub also draws some power.

If you want to charge in this whole setup, you will need something with Power Delivery specification (and USB-C to USB-C cable).

I have also tried with USB QC 2.0/3.0 (Qualcomm Quickcharge) and an USB-A to USB-C cable, but all of these USB-C hubs (I have 4 different brands) will not charge or power the V20 in that scenario. So PD is key.

Ok. SSD in an enclosure for temp work. HDD for storage.

Got a Samsung 860 QVO 1TB. Its a cheaper 1TB drive while still being higher quality. Because its not complete mission critical info (meaning it not something like stored photos, old stored files, ext) ill keep you with the QLC flash. Goes with an USB C enclosure that you can just plug in separately from the HDD dock.

Got a 4 drive bay. This is all USB 3.1, but USB 3.1 can handle even the SSD without an issue. Also Thunderbolt docks are expensive.

Going for a 6TB WD Blue drive for 3 reasons:

1: I've known WD drives to be very reliable and of high quality.

2: Value wise, its good to go with the 6TB drive.

3: Adds more expandability.

24TB of storage total whenever you get to buying all 4 drives.

About $416 total assuming you get one 6TB drive.

Thanks for all this! 12W from that 40W charger is unfortunate. I am getting that out of a USB A to C cable and an old iPad charger. But I'll definitely look into the 60W (that yields 30W) compared to the 29W Apple charger.

Also, for anyone else interested Anker's USB-C 3.1 cable is the same price as the 2.0 https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EMIIFCU/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A294P4X9EWVXLJ

Anker makes 18w 30w 45w and 100w wall chargers. Plenty to choose from. You want to make sure that the cable you’re using supports PD as well. Anker sells a cable that supports PD The most you need for a laptop is 45w. Now remember the wall chargers are rated as a total, not what each one will do, thanks to Anker’s IQ Tech say you have a 100w 2 port charger, well it’ll push all it can to one if only one device is plugged in but it’ll split, intelligently, if there are Two. So a 45w charger would be fine if ONLY the laptop is plugged in, iPhone 8 and up and Samsung and stuff like that can handle 18w max.
