I use this one. I can also keep my scissors and other little odds and ends in it
This Amazon case is a good alternative to a Z palette. It's magnetized because it's technically a sewing case, but it works awesome for depotted shadows.
You can use something like this: link It's a magnetic craft/sewing case. It's pretty utilitarian with no frills. I have one and it's very sturdy. You could probably glue a mirror into it, or decorate it if you're crafty.
Amazon also has Z Palette alternatives. You might try looking there. I just searched for "Travel empty makeup palette" and a whole lot of options came up.

Here it is! Looks like the price increased a couple dollars but still worth it! Its really tough plastic and seals nicely. I like it a lot.
Also, its an addon item only, so you would need to buy at least $25 worth of amazon stuff first before you can add this to your cart.
The tin isn't magnetic, For now they're just sticking in with leftover adhesive already on the back. I ordered some of these along with some magnetic tape and am considering switching them. If I decide not to I'm just gonna super glue the pans in this tin.
I havent used this myself, but I have seen people say that this makes a nice, cheap alternative to a Z palette.
