OMG this thread was made for me. For two years I had no paint station and had to travel to and from my local FLGS.

For a small kit, I found this in a store for $10. The bottom area held paints and the tray held tools and brushes, and the three top compartments held glue, bases, and putty. Locks shut, has a comfortable handle, very durable and lightweight. I still use when I need to travel and don't need to carry everything.

Eventually my paints and gear outgrew my little box. I graduated to this beast: the ArtBin Super Satchel with removable dividers.

This is without question the best portable organizer I've ever owned. Its cheap, but super durable. I don't have a car, I ride the bus. For an hour. Both ways. This gets knocked about, kicked and banged. I've had it for over a year and theres no cracks, the hinges, handle, and clasps are still in great shape. The dividers are bowing a little from the weight of my paints, but not unreasonably so.

Its important to note this organizer is deep enough to fit dropper bottles standing up and the result is very neat when you fill a whole compartment with them, they stand in a neat little row. I put a dot of paint on the dimple on top of each cap so I can easily see what color that bottle is.

You can, if you must, stack GW pots 2 high and still close the lid. P3 paints fit just fine of course. You can have a long compartment for just brushes but usually I put mine on top of the GW paints because they don't fill the depth of the tray. The three fixed compartments get used for misc. items.

The handle was very important for traveling for me, its very strong hard plastic and comfortable to hold. Completely loaded up my case weighs several pounds and I've never worried about the case.

The kickstarter thing looks cool and all but that thing is wood. I would not carry around all my gear in something that can't stand up to a good kick... and a good kick would shatter that thing. Imagine if your hand slipped and you dropped it on a concrete floor and it came down on one corner. What kind of shape would it be in afterwards?

I have dropped my artbin multiple times and its still carrying stuff for me. This was my paint setup last month, before I set up my desk. Note that I was able to store some things at the store at this time, thats why both boxes are there.

I sort by type using these Art Bin storage boxes. One bin will be all slopes. Another will be all flats/plates. Another will be technic. So on and so forth.

I don't have a dedicated workspace so I just slide the bins out of the closet and set up shop on the floor. It's a bit cumbersome (I have seven bins) but again... no dedicated workspace.

I use this ArtBin from a craft store for the characters. The toypad itself just sits next to the console.

I use Artbin containers for vehicles, and official minifigure display cases for the figures.

Note that the figure cases I linked aren't the Dimensions ones - for the same price they hold 16 figures instead of 2! They're meant for the polybaggged minifigures, I think, but they work just as well. Most characters can fit in still on the toy tag, although some you have to remove it and tuck the tag behind them.

(The smallest Artbin containers are too small for figures - they fit but you have to remove accessories/hats. And figures seemed to rattle around in the normal ones I use for vehicles - and Skylanders - but they'd still work.)

I'm actually using these for the bigger figs, monsters, and parts and these for the heroes. Then just using the main box for all the rules, scenario books, cards and map boards.

If you watch the first one, they will typically go on sale for less than $10 a piece. When that happens I'll buy two of them to have for the next KS I get.

I use the same thing- it fits the minifigs and some of the gadgets. The dividers are adjustable (except the front row), and I fit two vehicles in each compartment.



I tote the game back and forth between our two houses (it's a long story involving a job for one of us (ahem, me) and medical school for the other), so I like having everything ready to grab and go. I don't carry the portal around, though- just the base. I've never actually put the portal together!

I use this case for Skylanders. Some are too to fit though. When I own an amiibo, I'll let you know if I plan to use these for them too.

I live in an apartment too and boxes are becoming crazy.

It basically comes down to plastic protectors taking up too much space in their original box. So I've been putting my smaller figures into those tackle/organizing boxes like these ones (Amazon, not referral link) and just throwing the plastic protector out while keeping the box flattened.

Scaled I honestly don't know. I imagine you may be able to wrap them up in some protective thing like soft cloths or bubble wrap or stuffs like that and put them into a box? Don't quote me on it though, since I don't actually own a lot of scaled figures.
