I failed to keep the mascaras I went through this year... my bad... But I always use Maybelline Lash Stiletto.
What have I learned? I should really tone down my purchases of products like eyeshadow palettes and blush palettes. It takes FOREVER to get through one. And yet I have so maaany.

Here are some things he could try that I've been using myself lately with amazing benefits (I'm a 43 year old woman but skin is skin, right?). Rosehip seed oil (organic)- put several drops in a basic moisturizer for face or try it alone. There are Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid serums. Twice a day (morning and after I wash my face at night) I rub 2 dropperfuls over my face and let dry for a minute before putting moisturizer on. It's very watery but feels good. I have other similar serums coming that I am going to try as I'm almost out of this one but they all have vitamin C and hyaluronic acid in them. For retinol, I prefer Neutrogena products, although Roc has good ones too. I have used various retinol creams over the years but tend to prefer the ones without sunscreen. I don't spend a lot of time outdoors, but when I do I make sure to use sunscreen. I just don't like how it feels on my face so I avoid the UV issue by being indoors a lot. :) Lastly, it sounds weird, but he should try cleansing his face every night with Extra Virgin Coconut oil. I did that last night for the first time and my face looks amazing this morning! You cleanse with a teaspoon of oil, rubbing it in circles around your face. Get a washcloth wet with hot water, squeeze out some of the water and hold that on your face. The heat helps the oil soak in some, then you can rinse with very warm water. Good luck!

I like the results, I feel like it has definitely not done any harm and I am patient in the results because I had a lot of scarring to fix.

ArtNaturals Vitamin C serum < i have really oily/combination skin and it wasn't greasy or sticky for me at all and it's organic so you're not putting random crap on your face.
