I woke up last Monday morning and had the urge to build a gaming PC out of nowhere. I literally reached over to my phone while laying in bed at 5 AM in the morning and started ordering parts off Amazon and a couple days later here's the finished product. I had 0 PC building experience before this but thankfully Reddit and Google had all the answers I needed.

MOBO: ASUS Prime Z370-A II (in case I want to upgrade to a 9th gen)

GPU: EVGA 2070 Super XC Ultra Gaming

Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengeance C15 3000mhz

Storage: 1TB WD_Black NVMe // 1TB Seagate SSHD // 128GB Unknown Brand NVMe (running windows on it)

CPU: Intel i7-8700

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 (using the 2 NZXT 140mm fans that came with it as intakes)

PSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus 850 Gold

Case: H500 (base model)

For custom cables, many enthusiasts use CableMod, search them on amazon for premade ones, these run about $70. If you want fully custom ones where you pick each individual sleeve then you can use their configurator and they make them personally for you https://store.cablemod.com/configurator/ This is very pricey, into the hundreds of dollars

Alrighty, so here we go. To answer some of your questions first: You dont need to worry too much about parts other than the case form factor (ATX vs matx vs ITX). Everything else is more or less standardized. Yours is an ATX case so we got a full ATX motherboard.

As for windows, you can just download it and use it without activating it for free as long as you dont mind a small watermark in the bottom left of your screen. If it does bother you, you can always buy a key and activate it later!

Onto the build. Keep in mind, some parts are a bit more expensive because I wanted to keep with the black/white theme, but its still within budget!

I went with the microcenter bundle of the Ryzen 3600 + ASUS Prime x570 Pro motherboard for 405 bucks. The motherboard is white and black, and you can get it at this price in your local microcenter where it says it's in stock.

For RAM I went with 16gb 3200mhz RAM in white with RGB to match the motherboard

I went with a 256gb NVME SSD for an OS drive and a 2TB HDD for plenty of storage

A 1660ti seems to be the best choice for your price range, and I went with the MSI Ventus because it was a White and Black dual fan setup

Finally, I went with an EVGA 650W power supply. Its a little overkill, and you could get away with a 550W version of this perfectly fine, but this model is really highly rated and is fully modular.

These are by par the best looking ones. Unless most others they are actual white and not some shiny reflective white or off white.

I bought these on sale for $23 and they seem ok. Amazon link. I havent powered my pc on with them yet because I'm still waiting on parts to arrive. If anyone gets these just know that the pins pop out sorta easily.
If you want more quality and less cheap, go cablemod.
