I play on Xbox and bought this monitor a few months back. Huge improvement. It's 1080p and has a 1ms response time which is what you want. Price isn't too bad either

u/Fozzy420 · 4 pointsr/battlestations

Other specs:
-PC itself is a pre-built(Don't kill me. I got a great deal) MSI Aegis 3
-2x Asus monitors Asus MG248Q and Asus VX238H
-240GB SSD
-Headset is a Logitech G430 that I've swapped the earpads with these
-Razer Deathadder Elite
-Keyboard is MSI Interceptor 4200 (came with the PC, planning on upgrading)

No worries! I saw that and then saw the brand logo. I've never seen them before, are they pretty decent?

If you had to choose between these two, this one or this one, which would you go for?

I chose this one due to the fact it has two HDMI ports and you specified you wanted a monitor for both a console and a PC. That way you don't have to keep unplugging and plugging in HDMI cords. It's also relatively cheap and a good size and brand. This will do you nicely.

Is this a good one?

ASUS VX238-H is what I currently have. They retail for about $150.

Great monitors for gaming partially due to the 1ms response time. 23" screen as well so you'll have bit more desktop space to play with.

Highly recommend it: https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO

u/MarquesSCP · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

TN 27" at 1080p (i.e. too big for this resolution imo) and not flicker free?? No thank you

I reccomend this

u/xBigDx · 2 pointsr/EscapefromTarkov

here is a cpu chart i would get the i7-7700 you would need to change your motherboard http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-hierarchy,4312.html

also would get something like this monitor or get a 1ms 144 hertz it will be more money
https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO?tag=tomshardware_deals-20&ascsubtag=site:thus|tid:98641495588925697

also would get a beefier powersuply atleast a 700 or 750 gold for a pice of mind.

or wait till black friday or cyber monday and get really good deals on parts.

This is the monitor that I've got. I'll have to see about tinkering with the refresh rate if possible.

u/blueskyfire · 1 pointr/buildapc

This looks good. You can do cheaper but this comes highly rated and has a nice 1ms response time which is nice.

This is the one that I saw, though the default 23" is still $140. Downsizing to the 21.5" is the one that only cost $120.

Then again, I'm pretty new to the PC market, so I'm not entirely sure if this is a good monitor, per se, but I'm sure I wouldn't be too picky when it comes to my first setup.

u/gsr1379 · 1 pointr/PS4

this is what i console game on. I love it. and 1ms GTG :)

edit just seen it is $10 cheeper at new egg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236305
and there is a $20 mir at both places

u/TacosAreVegetables · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Does anybody know the input lag for this monitor? I ordered this one today, but I might cancel that and order this one if it has the same input lag (10 ms). Honestly, I don't know much about monitors so I don't know which would be the better of the two.

u/__SiPhi__ · 1 pointr/Infinitewarfare

I got an ASUS 24 for like $130. First weekend with it I dropped 4 nukes in a 6 game span

*Edit: It's 23 inches. Link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ANKMNXO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

your opinion, do you think this monitor here is decent?

looking to get something for a new comp im building that can also work as a small tv for a switch

u/maeshughes32 · 1 pointr/simracing

If you are doing VR then just buy a cheap $125 monitor. I bought this one.

u/JordyLA · 1 pointr/SSBM

piggybacking on OPs question what would be an accurate buffer for solo offline play with this monitor https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO ? I've tried most of the buffers from 0 to 6 but none of them seem accurate. I think the ones that feel the closest are 3 and 4, but still timings are different specially wavedash it just doesn't feel as smooth.

u/MikeyA15 · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

He doesn't all that in a PSU, dude. Even if he's going to add another GPU. Also for the price of those monitors he can get 1ms response time in this monitor

u/MonkeysInABarrel · 1 pointr/buildapc

I don't know much about monitors, but I just ordered the Asus VX238H.

It's 23", 1080p, 1ms refresh rate. I ordered it mainly because it has 2 HDMI ports, which I needed.

u/Jakester5112 · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Is this a good option? Asus

This is what I have for my PC It works great and I love it

This is similar to my second minutes, works great with my ps4

VX238h, 1ms response time and pretty cheap also i think you can overclock the monitor to go to ~90hz. Also its in sale rn on amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VX238H-1920x1080-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00ANKMNXO)

u/MapleStoryPSN · 1 pointr/PS4

If you don't mind refurbished (from the manufacturer itself), I'd suggest going with this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BenQ-ZOWIE-24-RL2455-Console-eSports-Gaming-Monitor-Refurbished-/152303206776?hash=item2375fa8178:g:ENAAAOSwfVpYpOW0

It's the best bang for your buck if you're planning on playing games that require fast reaction times (fighting games, FPS, 2D platformers, etc.).

EDIT: Would also suggest this Asus, which is relatively inexpensive but is the successor to the monitor that players used at previous EVO tournaments: https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1491799546&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+1ms

EDIT 2: If you'd like to see some other options, make sure to check here (lower lag is better, obviously): https://displaylag.com/display-database/

u/kmoc_ · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Then I'm not sure a monitor would give you the ROI you might be thinking you would get. $100 budget would be tight. This is probably as close as you can get and there are a couple twitchy users who play on this one :
https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1498222220&sr=1-1&keywords=VX238H

u/showt3k · 1 pointr/Monitors

Thanks for this! I'm currently using https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1497834974&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+1ms

I noticed the one you linked only has a 1m:1 contrast and mine is 80 mil, is that relevant at all?

u/withmymagazines · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

Ah gotcha! One last question... Y'all were talking about the vg, I'm looking at the vx for the speakers and it's also $70 cheaper on Amazon. It's 60hz vs 75 on the vg, but same input lag. Any reason I wouldn't want to go with the vx model?

Thanks again

u/ocean_life_ · 1 pointr/XboxOneGamers

If you’re using anything below an xbox one x, 4k is not supported. I dont care what anyone says, xbox has said so. 1080p is the highest you’ll get. Now, with that being said you want to go for 1080p. But now you need to look in a different area...ms. I’d say hz but xbox doesn’t actually output anything stronger than 60hz no mtter what. However they support 1ms response time. So i recommend this monitor ~~~> https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO

u/boneybob · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yes just the tower.

With this you wont need a 4k monitor, just 1080p so depends on how much you want to spend and how big you want. [I had this one for a while and loved it.] (https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO/ref=nav_ya_signin?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1522551594&sr=1-8&keywords=1080p+monitor&)

As for a mouse, i would go to best buy or frys and put your hand on one and see which one feels the best. But I really like the [Razer Mamba] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013HSWF40/ref=twister_B071WFY14D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1).

Just FYI, the motherboard i picked is a mATX which is micro ATX so its smaller and i picked a case that supports mATX. Its more expensive than ATX by around $25 so you can get a regular ATX motherboard cheaper but you will need larger case than the one i picked. I actually ended up using [this case.] (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Carbide-Airflow-MicroATX-Mini-ITX/dp/B00LA6Y5XQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522552372&sr=8-2&keywords=corsair+240)

Do you think this monitor is good for me? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ANKMNXO/?tag=pcpapi-20

u/AzuraDM · 1 pointr/buildapc

Assuming you're happy with 1080p (not 1440p) and 60Hz (not 144), here's a good one for $150. You can step down to the 21.5" version for $135 each.

I just recently bought the Asus 24 inch 1ms 75Hz (VG245H) and I love it. Just checked and it goes for 179.99 usd on amazon.

I also see an Asus 23 inch (VX238H) for 139.99 usd which doesn’t look to bad.
