I am running dual 1070s atm, with just +500 memory... to keep the cards ~65C it's 80% fan... I think the type of card matters...

Yeah some cards will run cooler, and generally more fans = more cool.

When I'm looking at GPU's I tend to look at brands with a good reputation, eVGA, MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte. I've had one GPU ever die on me, and it was a Zotac, so I won't use them. I'm sure it was just bad luck, but I'm allowed to discriminate. Then I check out the cooler/shroud. I tend to move towards fans like this as opposed to contained shroud that exhausts out the back. In my experience the first type tend to run cooler. Then I just look at which ones look cooler, and which ones have extra features. I went with the ASUS STRIX because it has RGB lighting, and two fan connectors. So you can attach case fans to it, and it can control them to help with it's temperature. Also my mobo is Asus and I like that they match.

Do you have the liquid cooling? If so you're golden you can probably even leave your cd drive.

I paid $429 for mine, no tax, free shipping a month ago, 100% worth it to me. (Gigabyte G1)

My guess is you won't see Sub 400 anything for a while. Till the market is saturated and stock is plentiful in all retail channels. Right now the 1070 and 1080 are king of the roost with no real competetion on deck.

I'm holding out for non-"Founder^moneygrab Edition" card, but holy hell, at SGD$768 so far it's a bit of a cry from the USD$379 figure that was bandied about at launch.

The Aorus ones are amazing though! I've have liquid cooled cards run hotter than these. If you're interested in either of those two, I'm gonna bring these because I'm sure in person it'd change your mind. Lol. The Blower cards are going fairly fast, I only have 3 of those ones left atm.

A reference GTX 1070 8GB for £319 sold by amazon UK? Its £100 more than what you paid for but it would be a performance boost. The lowest one i see on PC part picker is £355 a zotac mini.

So the temps never get above 70? See I'm torn. This and a hybrid 980ti are around the same price. the 1070 seems more likely to be future-driver supported over the 980 ti. Even if the 980 ti, the hybrid especially, is a cool, bench-marking beast.

Anyways, post your benchmarks(4k witcher 3, fallout 4, whatever else you have or can do) and max temps. I personally don't like the idea of a gpu scraping 80 degrees C. Which this seems like it would do.
