I was recently in the same situation as you and I went with the Asus ROG Zephyrus S.
If you're looking for something extremely thin and light, yet also powerful, you can't go wrong with this. The only complaint I have is the RTX versions only come with 500 GB of storage, and if you want to upgrade, due to how cramped it is inside there's only room for a single NVMe M.2 SSD.
The only option that I can think of is the 2019 ASUS ROG Zephyrus S it has a 144Hz. screen with ant RTX 2070 and you can charge it with a 65W charger through USB-C .
Any info on pricing? Just bought a GX531G for a business trip. Should I return this and wait for the 9th Gen chips? If price gap is not that big, I'll probably just go with the new stuff (Zephyrus S GX502). Got 30 days to decide I guess.
This MSI GS65 Stealth1 is one of my favorite super slim , light weighted , high performance laptops with 1000 series graphics card..It definitely will do the job at hand you have, has a solid battery life and of course, you will be fascinated by its design and overall aesthetics.
This Acer Predator Triton 500 has a newer RTX 2060 graphics card which operates similarly to the 1070 in the Stealth above. It has all the features of the MSI of course, but is a newer system and I totally love its overall appearance and aesthetics.
There are two other laptops that are more powerful than these and still within your budget ( they have the RTX 2070 MQ graphics card), but i'm not sure if you'll like their designs. They are very slim and light- weighted as well .
2 ASUS ROG Zephyrus S This is the thinnest of all the laptops I have stated. It also performs very well, but I am not sure you will like its unorthodox keyboard design and of course, if you get it, I would recommend you get a mouse as well.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus S or the Eluktronics Mech-15 G2 Pro would be two good laptops for gaming with your buget
