I noticed you mentioned UK, so: ASUS T-100 The Amazon UK site doesn't mention (at least I didn't see it) but it comes w/ Office 2013 Home and Student for free.

The T-200 is significantly more expensive (but larger) but has the exact same Atom CPU, and I'm unsure if it's available in the UK (I did not see it on amazon.co.uk but it is on amazon.com)

A pretty cool reccomendation, but as it's a tablet after buying a bluetooth keyboard it would be around £280. (I think £30 is about the price after a quick check.) This brings it up to the price of the ASUS Transformer T100 more or less. Both are a little over my initial budget, but both options seem to be good value for money.

It's slightly over budget, but the ASUS T100TA is small, cheap, functions like a tablet, and comes with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 already loaded.

I've been looking at Windows 8.1 2-in-1 (or hybrid) tablets, and I'm thinking of getting something like the Asus T100. It looks like a decent Windows machine for pretty cheap, and comes with the keyboard dock included, unlike a lot of other Windows 2-in-1s that either sell them as an optional extra or come in a much more laptop-like form.

What's putting me off slightly is performance - it'll play some relatively new Steam games on pretty low settings with pretty low framerates, but I don't know whether to save for a bit and save for something more powerful, with a better screen resolution.

While looking for one for myself, I came around the ASUS T100TA, which has really good reviews throughout the internet. It can apparently run CIV V, and can last up to 11 hours with average use. Its also only £289. Might be worth a look.

Oh that's interesting - this?

I guess the only thing that might put me off that is the lack of apps like Netflix and cheap games. What are the options like on Windows?
