No. This computer could not play any games, not even Starcraft 2 on low. This is about as cheap as you can get and still run Starcraft well.

you should be able to get pretty cheap.
I have a asus 80vt

  • 1.3GHz Intel SU7300 Core 2 Duo Processor
  • 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 2 slots, 8GB Max
  • 320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM), DVD Super Multi Drive
  • 14" Widescreen HD LED LCD Display, NVidia G210M Graphics with 512MB DDR3 + Intel GMA 4500MHD (Switchable VGA), 0.3M Webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11 bgn
  • Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System (64 bit), 11.5 Hours of Battery Life

And I can run sc2 on low settings. I only played sc2 for two days, (the sea free play weekend), so i didnt see how high i could get the fps, but with them all on low, i didnt ever lag at all from what i could tell.

yes it is a 1.3 ghz processor, i know wtf >< but its a damn champ. the coure 2 duo is badass. you can also overclock it if needed, but i think mine started to overheat if i left it like that.

this laptop allows you to switch between integrated and dedicated for battery life, and you can get 7+ hrs battery life if you want to. it also has hdmi out, but not audio within the hdmi.

this can play l4d2 on low settnigs too, with only some frame lag at some points (less so if you overclock, but i dont)

when i bought this, i believe i got a $100 gift card to amazon for free, but i had to do some special deal. anyway, the 260m should be more than enough power for sc2, i just dont know what kind of settings.

You're going to want something from the ASUS UL line, such as:

http://www.amazon.com/UL80Vt-A1-14-Inch-Light-Black-Laptop/dp/B002Q8HK7K

That's the one I own since it has switchable graphics and a DVD+R, but they all have insane battery life. Last time I traveled, I was browsing the internet unplugged for a couple hours during my flight delay, then watched The Dark Knight on DVD during the flight, and when I got home, still had over 50% battery life. Few-to-no other laptops can claim that.

I recommend the ASUS in general for their reliability and customer satisfaction, and for light laptops, the U and UL series.

At 3.6 lbs this is their lightest, but is a bit more expensive than the others. Here is a list of their other laptops weighing under 5 lbs.

If you look around for some of their older, core2 duo versions, like this you can find them for pretty cheap, around $600.

I'm a taller guy, and the most irritating thing about the size of my current 12.1" tx1000 is the screen size. I wouldn't recommend buying a 12.1 or smaller without a chance to try and get some work done on one.
