Have you considered using a cheap tablet instead? You could save $100 and have several more inches of screen to show your products on.

Edit: ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 https://www.amazon.com/Asus-Zenpad-Z580C-B1-BK-inches-Tablet/dp/B011TVF5QC

The Asus Zenpad S8 looks quite good. It's got an 8 inch retina screen which looks gorgeous, it's perfectly competent in terms of specs, and you've got it for 180 bucks which gives you some breathing room for a cover or something. Plus, it's Prime-enabled.

Here's a LINK to the zenpad I was refering to.

I wouldn't say I loved the Fire HD 7. Tolerated is a better word. :-). It was an odd device. It was from back in the day when Amazon had rigged FireOS to disable the Google Play Services - so any apps you had purchases on the Google Play Store would have to be re-purchased through Amazon (if they were even available) . Thankfully Amazon has softened their stance on the Google Play Store and you can now install it without having to root the device.

Funny you should mention, as my wife has a Zenpad s 8. Asus's marketing is confusing, as they seem to have three versions (Z580C - 1.33GHz/2GB, Z580CA - 1.83GHz/2GB and 2.3GHz/4GB). The lower end Z580CA and the Z580C seem to get mixed up together.

Wife has the Z580CA 1.83GHz/2GB/32GB model, and it's great. Snappy fast, absolutely stunning screen quality. I don't know how well it will perform emulation-wise. Haven't tried that, but I'm considering it as a future replacement for my Shield. I wouldn't give the 1.33GHz version a second look though, too low end. Though I suppose you can get lucky. We bought the C version, but at the time I don't think there was a 1.33GHz model, so we got the 1.83 GHz Z3560/PowerVR model.

But yeah, the Zenpad S 8 looks pretty sweet, and I've never seen a tablet or a phone with such a beautiful display, it's literally the best looking screen I've ever seen on a portable device.

I think when I get home I'm gonna see if we still have the Zenpad's box, because I swear it was the C version, despite the faster chip in it. Specifically bought the Asus Zenpad S 8 Z580C-B1-BK here, but the page now specifies the lower end model... odd.

even a kindle fire HD has 1.5 GB of RAM.
Look how slow it responds around 2.10 - 2.20

Shit tablet. Spend two times the money for something you actually enjoy, or even less if you can live with lower res.

The [ASUS ZenPad S 8 Z580C-B1-BK 8" 32 GB Tablet] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011TVF5QC/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=dimz04-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B011TVF5QC&linkId=312b523977fe8946ab1ead736cb320c8) would be your best choice it has similar specs to the Nvidia K1 such as 2GB RAM and has good storage space of 32 GB compare to the K1 of 16GB. Also ranked as one of the best tablets under $200.

Use the built in emulator or if you really want a tablet this one is good for the price. Amazon link

As for tablets, there's a more limited selection at that price range (if you omit chinese knock-offs), but...
The lenovo Tab A10, around $150 used: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-ZA000001US-10-1-Inch-Tablet-Midnight/dp/B00TR05L9Y/

An ASUS Zenpad S8, $198. (I personally have one of these, and recommend it): https://www.amazon.com/Asus-Zenpad-Z580C-B1-BK-inches-Tablet/dp/B011TVF5QC

And the amazon fire tablets aren't bad, as long as you avoid the ones with sponsored offers. You can easily get one under $200 for that. Weigh the benefits, though.

The Zenpad is available from Amazon Warehouse for $150. It has 2gb of Ram and an Atom processor:

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ZenPad-Z580CA-C1-BK-64-Tablet/dp/B011TVF5QC?tag=at88-20&th=1

Do you think the $50 is worth it over the Shield? Or should I just save my money and go for the better tablet? It seems like the Zenpad has a better battery. Both have Nougat, and they have different aspect ratios (I don't know which ratio I prefer).

I got an Asus Zenpad S 8 Z580C-B1, 32 gb. It's very quick, nice to watch tv and movies on. The bloatware it comes with is surprisingly useful, if a little pastel in nature. $190 at Amazon.

You can look at Amazon's Fire HD 8. Alternatively, it's a bit more expensive than the tablet you linked to, but you can look at the Zenpad S 8.0.
