Do not buy that collection if you cannot read Japaneses!!! There currently is no box set for English yet (at least none I am aware of) so just buy the single volumes from amazon or your local book store. AoT is crazy popular and most book stores will have some in stock.

Examples of what you should buy:

236 miles!

If I win, this would be nice :3 and if I could be cheeky, if this makes it less than US$15 when combined, perhaps both could be included? :3 Doesn't matter if not of course!

Luckily in the UK you don't have to pay for shipping if it's from Amazon as well!

Hope your day gets better.

I recommend Attack on Titan on netflix, or if you like reading, there's a Manga!

If you haven't watched Game of Thrones, DEFINITELY watch some of that.

I found that buying them from amazon is the easiest/cheapest way.
There are 4 attack on titans volumes out for now.

The thing I want the most from my list at the moment. It also means it's one I'll get myself anyways, sooner or later, so it's not that big of a priority. Just 8 days ago I hadn't even heard of the series. Then /u/toasthaste posted this, and I was impressed enough to check out what's that about, and got hooked.

I think it's Prime eligible, although I don't see the Prime logo under the name of the item.

<Me and the Devil Blues> has a black protagonist, not sure if it's been licensed though. Afro Samurai is a pretty good anime if she's willing to try that out (I don't think anyone's translated the manga). I'd have to get back to you on the college manga, cos all I can think of are high school ones. I think FMA is a really safe bet though, definitely give her that.

I think the popular buys nowadays are Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on Titan though, if you want to try those. Oh, and if she's going to Ireland, The Ancient Magus' Bride takes a lot of mythology from around that area (like Gaelic and Anglo-Saxon).
