Here's one I got that supports fast charging as well
Aukey 20000 mah battery pack, for only $17 w/ a code
[I also bought a usb to usb-c cable for $7] (https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Type-C-Braided-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B01APALS78/ref=pd_sim_147_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01APALS78&pd_rd_r=6JFBBM948GGF7FX881VK&pd_rd_w=3bMFl&pd_rd_wg=GN7Ol&psc=1&refRID=6JFBBM948GGF7FX881VK)
I have android Auto and a Zplay. Most of the time is the cable, a regular USB+Adapter to USB C works on my PC but not on my car.
I bought this https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Type-C-Braided-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B01APALS78/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1494343825&sr=8-3&keywords=Aukey+usb+3.0+cable and woks great.
It seems Android Auto (or at lest my car) is very picky with the cable I use.
Have you tried other cables? I also suggest no adapters involved.
