We now have a 2 foot tall avocado house plant.
So adorable! I always had the best success with avocado pits when put into little avocado boats. Then you don't have to pierce them, which always seemed to introduce mold into mine. :D Out of three boats, I'd always have 1 that shot up to two feet, one that took much longer, and third that never seemed to grow. The only problem with the boats is that if you leave it in long enough (which I tended to do) then getting the roots through can be difficult.
