Apparently they reintroduced that model because you can get them brand new off amazon. I'm pretty sure that's the same one I had back in the 80's too.
They're currently being remade, but I don't think the inner workings are the same.

I know this thread is mostly about what music to play for your child but I thought I'd add that you can still get the fisher price kid friendly phonographs on amazon or ebay that are pretty indestructible...
I LOVED mine as a kid and not only were the songs familiar to me because my parents sung them or I heard them in pre-school, I was in control of the gadget and could play any song I wanted to. Think about something like this (I'm sure someone makes updated hipper versions) when your child gets agile enough. It helps with dexterity and let's them control their little worlds with fun.
