Knightfall is Bane's first major storyline and arguably his best. It consisted of three parts, Broken Bat, Knightsquest and Knightsend. Unfortunately because of DC's ass-backwards trade strategy, only the first and third parts are collected and available for sale. A better collection with all of the parts is apparently due in May.

Also if you want some background into Bane for the new "The Dark Knight Rises" movie I suggest reading the Knightfall series.

I feel like Daggett's main purpose was to reveal the true nature of Bane to those that aren't familiar with the comics and graphic novels such as Knightfall.

Until Daggett confronts Bane, a fan that's familiar of the franchise through film only might not understand what motivates Bane. Money is worthless to him. He wants nothing more than to cause pain, destroy, and (in the film) please and love Talia by helping her fulfill her Father's quest. And he absolutely cannot be controlled through bribery.

He is Batman's equal in every way. Without Venom, he's just as strong, just as skilled, just as intelligent. With Venom, he's nigh indestructible. Though in the film, the Venom was conceived as morphine, preventing him from feeling pain.

If you want to find out more about Batman, I recommend starting with Frank Miller's graphic novels--beginning with ["Year One."] (http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Year-One-Deluxe-New/dp/1401233422/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1342921417&sr=1-1&keywords=Year+One). And ["Knightfall"] (http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Knightfall-Part-One-Broken/dp/1563891425), a trilogy, is the infamous Breaking of Batman tale. All are written very well--very chilling and brutal. I wish I could read them for the first time again.

Thanks, you're awesome! I definitely recognise the artwork.

Now I'm looking through Amazon to get the book and give myself some closure. Would you mind helping me figure out the difference between these two publications?

First

Second

... Despite the similar titles, there is a huge 300-page discrepancy between them

I have this issue still unopened & sealed; from when i was in middle school.

Does that make me an official geek?

p.s. If anyone wants to read the story arc it's still for sale

I'm guessing you mean the series by Moench and Dixon, not the one by Rucka?
