Every video game review on Amazon is like that.

Battlefield 3: http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-3-Pc/dp/B002I0HJZO/ref=sr_1_4?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1324981946&sr=1-4 (3.5 stars - was at 1 star the first week)

Fanboys downvote everything.

>EA's decision to distribute BF3 only through EA Origin, and not Steam.

Ah, that's completely false. It's available for digital pre-order on Impulse, you can buy the limited edition boxed copy at Amazon, and at retail (Best Buy, GameStop, GAME, etc...)

It isn't on Steam, yet. You can pre-order/buy Battlefield 3 from literally dozens of other places.

well... there's this

Amazon has been doing a lot of great sales using their PC download options, its generally 10$ off immediately.

You obviously didn't play BF3 at launch otherwise you would have never typed that. BF3 was, just like BF4 at launch, a mess which was fixed over time. I mean FFS, just look at the Amazon reviews from when the game was launched.

As for BF4, it was populated after its launch because it was a good game and there were those willing to deal with the bugs. But for large parts of the population the game was not just riddled with minor bugs but bugs that made it impossible to get a satisfactory game in. I don't know if you were active on the forums back in 2013 but if you were you'd know what I am talking about.

As for my take on people who pre-order, all I'm saying is that you'd have to be a moron to spend $60 on a game from a developer that has a history of bug-infested releases. I said nothing about voting with your wallet, the game is being released regardless. If you want to spend $60 or more go ahead, it just makes you the definition of an uneducated consumer. If that is too "exhausting" for you then click the ignore button and move on.

I could be wrong but it looks like battlefield 3 is cheaper here on amazon for Americans http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-3-PCMacLinux-Unix/dp/B002I0HJZO

u/Flan26 · 3 pointsr/battlefield3

Why is it showing at $59.99 for me?

Also, Amazon has the "Tell us about a lower price" link, if you people want to try and influence them to match it.

Amazon has it for 38 for PC
http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-3-Pc/dp/B002I0HJZO
(No clue how to make that hyperlink neater)

Is this about the best price I will see it for PC for a while?
I want to play BF3, but wasnt great at BF2, so I dont want to pay 60 bucks.

u/zombicidalscientist · 2 pointsr/battlefield3

It'll activate under your account. Buy the digital copy from Amazon instead. It's still only $51.

u/cembradley · 2 pointsr/battlefield3
u/nmezib · 2 pointsr/battlefield3

It's 15% off at this moment (link, click on "PC Download") making it $51.

I think that 30% off deal was only for that one day.

u/m1k30rz · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I'd love this so damn much! you'd make my day!!! :D :D Battlefield 3 is my favourite game :D

u/CrayonOfDoom · 2 pointsr/gaming

Fixed your link for you.

He has PC games in there, and I can't imagine why you'd want to gimp yourself in an FPS by not using a mouse.

u/CompSci_Enthusiast · 1 pointr/pcgaming

Amazon.ca has BF3 for 25% off the regular version or the Limited Edition at regular price. Limited edition comes with the Back to Karkand maps.

Battlefield 3. That game to me is why I play video games. It's a cut above everyone else in terms of multiplayer experience when a team works together. The best gaming experiences I have ever had have been on battlefield 3 multiplayer. You become so wrapped up in the game that the desire to win becomes more than to just a desire to level up. It becomes an internal struggle to prove to yourself that you can in fact do it.
There is a level of camaraderie that is prevalent throughout the game that really makes it unique. Coordinating with other squad leaders and team-mates in vehicles is such an entertaining and amazing aspect of the game. There truly is nothing more horrifying than seeing an enemy tank roll up onto the objective you need to defend and start pounding away at your cover. But then you just mention to your team mates in the jets that there is a tank on bravo and then BOOM! 15 seconds later the two A-10's release air-to-ground missiles and the tank is scrap metal. It's a satisfaction that i have never been able to find in any other game.

Why not just get it from Here? That's 20 bucks off.

u/vonbonbon · 1 pointr/gaming

PC too. I don't know what release-day delivery costs if you're not a Prime member, though.

Amazon has it in their download service for only 50.99.

Just make sure pc download is selected. Took about 2 hours to download for me as the file is 10.2 gigs.

>How many people have gotten into a series or a developer through used games? Assassin's Creed series I got into through a used game. And Metal Gear Solid. And CoD. Spyro, Final Fantasy, Crash, Bioshock, Dragon Age and more.

A vast minority. More people buy the game first hand than second hand. Also, it doesn't matter if you "got into" the developer via second hand games. You buying the game second hand gives them no money at all anyway, so it doesn't make a difference to them.

>I got into those series because I picked up a cheap, used copy. I never would have bought a new one - I don't have that much money for games, so I want every game I buy to be worth it.

Good for you...?

>Then, after I played a used copy of the first, I made sure to buy the next in the series firsthand.

Ok...and this going where...?

>But Battlefield 3? It's not exactly a new game, it still retails at almost full price, and if I buy a second hand version I have to purchase an online pass. Well, guess who isn't going to be trying that series?

Here it is on Amazon.com for £34. Not exactly dirt cheap but hey, it's worth it.

Are you really that self-entitled to think that all games should be cheaply available to you and fully accessible? "You get what you pay for?" Believe it or not, mate the people who work at these companies have to make money too. They can't afford to sell all their games at 20 dollars. It's not how a business works. By the way, not to diminish your role as a consumer. But BF3 sold over 10 million copies. I don't think you not buying it will dent the company that much. I think they'll survive.

>Long term, developers should be focusing on bringing gamers to their series, to recognising their brand. Because of Skyrim, I looked at Bethesday's other games and bought a couple. I'm now open to buying their games because I know they produce some damn good stuff.

Why should they need to do that? They've already got your attention with ad campaigns. Why did you buy Skyrim? You just said you never played a Bethesda game before. It was the media hype behind it. Not the fact that you knew they made good games already.

Long story short. If you want to be a loyal customer buy first hand games. I'm not against second hand games at all. I'm a student and I'm in the same boat as you. Yes, they're expensive but some of them are actually worth it. Not to mention, they're dirt cheap online sometimes. But please don't come up with this attitude of "Herp derp I should be able to get everything second hand." you are literally giving the developer nothing in that transaction. Which is why (I think) you deserve to be penalised for it.

It's not just a console game. If it is then I don't know what I have been playing all of this time. I don't care if they give you guys a port of it, I am saying I want a PC version. IDGAF what you guys get to play, you're not on my servers so it doesn't matter to me what you do. I just don't want a remake or a shitty port for PC.

You say it is a console game like BF3 and all BF games aren't out on PC. Here is a link in case you really didn't know.

Tell me again how it's not a PC game anymore. And what console did they design it on?

u/yoshiruu · 0 pointsr/battlefield3

I agree with this pick one or the other that your friends are useing or which you like better... I suggest PC.

From what I know you cant put down 5$ for PC version anywhere you just have to get the whole thing.

This might help
