What platform, PC?

Pre-ordering this early is still a gamble as they haven't released much information about bf4 yet, despite the constant "confirmations" posted online. Also another thing to keep in mind is bf4 doesn't come out till October, which in my mind is a while to wait and, likely, you can find a way to have another spare 60$ on hand by then.

Make sure to look around before you buy it. Right now Amazon.com has it on sale for $39.99.

It's 33% off at Amazon right now as a digital download. Not sure how picky they are about your region, but it's worth looking into.

If that price is still too high or doesn't work in Canada, you may be better off waiting a couple of weeks. It's been on sale off and on all over the place from time to time, but everyone seems to be set back at full price now.

User reviews are a little easy to game. The second a group of internet users gets offended about something, a ton of people vote 1/10 on a game that they haven't played or doesn't deserve a 1.

It's still $20 off (download only) on Amazon. I was skeptical about using their game download service but it was actually pretty good.

I'm almost certain that it will not be coming to Steam.

As for Origin, I honestly have had no problems with it. Battlelog is quite neat as well as it works fine. There are some people who have problems with it, but understand that while there are people making posts on how bad things are, there really aren't any people making posts on how things are working fine for them. I'm not sure if I can call them a vocal minority or not, but for me and many others, things are fine.

TL;DR: Like Battlefield 3? Buy it. (And Back to Karkand. Seriously, it's awesome.)

BF3 is really good because there's a lot of roles to play (infantry, driver, gunner, pilot...) and it's super cheap because bf4 is coming out oct 29th. It's $40 with all the dlc, which is a good price, but it's been cheaper. Keep an eye on the price and you'll probably see another sale before too long.

Other than that, far cry 3 is awesome.

If anyone still was interested in gifting, I would recommend going through them... (not sure if they have a gift option, but even if they don't, they give you the key for Origin, instead of binding it to any account).

Have you tried ordering it from the US page? I'm an american living in the uk and this is how I purchased it.

People are upset because this game was hyped up so hard and when it launched, it was imperfect. It had a metacritic user score of like negative twenty on the first day because the midnight launch didn't go very well.

It's not just Diablo 3, it's just about every other hyped up game there ever was, ever. Except Skyrim.

It's not that those games didn't have their flaws, but seriously, "I ONLY PLAYED THIS GAME FOR 300 HOURS, IT IS TERRIBLE AND MADE BY THE WORST GAME STUDIO ON THE PLANET" is getting old.
