Heh, you're right; I should write it up properly :)

Until then a quick rundown: I used Ponoko's laser-cutting service, cutting the wood parts out of 1.5mm birch ply, and the faux-gold out of 1.5mm two-color gold&black plastic. To create the cutting template I used Inkscape (open-source vector art software) according to directions provided by ponoko.

Each chip is 3mm thick (eg slightly over 1/8"), made by having a front and a back glued together with wood glue (similar to PVA/Elmers), then the edges sanded smooth, then stained with a water-based woodstain+polyurethane combo (ie I purchased one can that does both, I didn't mix two cans). The amiibo tag fits under the portrait.

To cover the portraits, I used these self-adhesive plastic domes. They're the same diameter as amiibo tags and soft enough that I could trim the edges with scissors to make them fit on the narrower sides. (You can see the tags and some of the other parts in the fourth pic here)

This rhinestone assortment gave me a range of colors in three known diameters so I could make appropriate holes in the cutting template.

I used this journal, removing the lined and the gridded page sets, leaving just the blank page set and the pockets (for things like a Hyralian alphabet chart). Then for the cover I sewed on a brass pendant taken from some Zelda jewelry.

I use These to make tokens for monsters and player abilities. Punch out your image circle and the backs of these are adhesive so the images stick right to it facing through the epoxy. 6 cents each (Other than the sheet of paper covered in images) and much less work involved. I like the look of yours as well though.

This is the method I use and I found it easy and relatively cheap.

I use the first method with the 1" epoxy stickers. I haven't tried the method with the glass disks. Here is all you need...

1" metal stickers...
http://www.aleatools.com/product-p/ms-one.htm

Some 1" plastic bases (optional, but they look nicer with some height)... Personally, I picked up a 2 stacks of the black bases and 1 stack of the translucent gem (4 red, 4 white and 4 blue). I use the colors to indicate things like the captain, flying, poisoned, etc...

1" epoxy stickers...

Add a 1" hole punch and print out the art you want and you are ready to go. One tip, I found that punching a 1" hole in standard office paper did not work well. It is much easier to get a clean cut if you print on something slightly stiffer like white cardstock.

They do make 2" versions of everything I linked and you can use those if you want to indicate larger monsters, but I just make them all 1" and put them on the intersection of 4 squares if they are large or inside a 1" square if they are not.

One other tip... I found that half dollar coin tubes are the right size to store about 10 -12 tokens at a time for easy transport to your games.

I've also used small plastic chess pieces, plastic army men, dice, etc... but I find the tokens with the picture of the monster or at least the face of the monster is much better.

Sure! The binder clip solution mentioned is also a great on-the-cheap option, but I like my method for a couple of reasons.

1: epoxy stickers cost $8 for 100, so they're still very cheap.

2: The epoxy sticker allows you to mark the token with a dry erase marker to indicate various status effects. Very handy!

3: If you really want to go nuts, you can upgrade them with metal circles to make them magnetic. Alea Tools sells them, as well as magnetic markers. I have markers numbered 1-20, so I can throw a bunch of monsters on the field and have them numbered. Very convenient!

4: Because the tokens are uniform, I just have photoshop templates I update. Any concept art I find from anywhere online can become a monster in seconds. It really is incredibly fast.

I also have a 2" hole punch for huge monsters (and matching 2" epoxy stickers), and have been working on a few different solutions for gigantic ones. But thus far, I'm really enjoying it.

Hope you find it helpful! And if not, best of luck to you whatever route you choose to go!

For this I recommend printing some nice pictures in 1 inch circles, punching them with a 1 inch circle punch and then using 1 inch epoxy stickers to make them usable and shiny:

No more piles of hazard tokens! Now you can have nice neat stacks that are easy to count and move about the gaming table.

If you want to make your own here are the supplies.

On the subject of tokens, I have Icestorm, and those tokens are pretty vulnerable...

So would these things then make it so that the tokens would be a 3D element? I really like the Micro Art Studios tokens, but they're sold out. Would these be equivalent?

u/theangrycan · 2 pointsr/InfinityTheGame

Alright so here's what I would go with. The more you play, the more you'll realize what you need/use more than others.

One thing to note, I like having extra tokens, in case you lose some/faster to find at times, so something like Fireteam tokens you only need 1, but I put 2, etc.

20 Regular Order Tokens
5 Irregular Order Tokens
5 Impetuous Order Tokens
5 Extreme Impetuous Tokens
1 Lieutenant Order Token
4 Command Tokens

2 Team Leader Tokens
2 Harris Team Leader Tokens

5 Wounds
8 Dogged Tokens
15 Unconscious Tokens
2 Battle Ravaged Tokens
15 Prone Tokens
5 Suppression Fire Tokens
5 Unloaded Tokens

5 Targeted Tokens

5 Mine Tokens

10 Camo Tokens
5 40mm Camo Tokens

Instead of just buying them, I would go to http://inf-dice.ghostlords.com/markers/ and print out everything you need (if you go this route, I would make 2 of all the other Negative Effects Tokens, and a bunch of TAK tokens just to have them). Then get a 1 inch circle hole punch from your local craft store and punch them all out, then get some epoxy stickers and stick them together. That way, if you need more you can just make them.

Hope this helps!

Edit: forgot one.

Amazon sells these self adhesive bottle toppers. Print out some color circles on MS paint and you can make your own.

u/DeenSteen · 2 pointsr/DIY

I did some research and realized this is a pretty common thing. For epoxy stickers, made for bottlecaps, check this out.

As for magnets, look for bulk magnets for sale. Just look around.

The hot glue shouldn't affect the plastic/silicon/rubber liner in the bottlecaps, but if you're worried, use some epoxy. Probably the clear stuff. Any reasonable adhesive will work just fine. Gorilla glue, maybe? Maybe even mounting tape. Or perhaps, if you're in a jam, super glue. Just some thoughts.

Good luck and keep us updated.

I ordered off of amazon and they arrived today. I have a sleeve with a black wristband tattoo. I popped one on and it’s AMAZING! Downfall—Apple charger that actually came with my watch won’t charge, but the cheapo “wannabe AirPower” works. I got the charger on eBay but stopped using it when it seemed to never charge both my phone and watch at the same time. It says the epoxy is 2mm thick. Here’s the amazon link. It came with 100 dots for 6.99. Happy camper here!

Not the OP, but I think we used the same technique ... or similar ...

  1. Round edges, you can buy a circle punch. You print out a sheet of the "tokens" you need, and then use the circle punch to cut them all out. As long as the circle punch isn't garbage (mine kinda is), then it's a lot quicker than working with scissors. Something like this:

    https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B002BTSEM4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  2. For the base, you don't need one. You can buy these epoxy bubble stickers. You just stick them on the circle picture you punched out above. It looks good, it's relatively cheap.

    https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00AFRWIRQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used these little tokens in Warhammer, to mark unit conditions n' such.

Again, I'm just guessing at the OPs general technique.

They are super easy to make these as well if you have a 1 inch hole punch and these.

Only thing that might be harder is getting the actual images.

I used to make a ton of tokens just like this for Infinity.

u/Gorphax · 1 pointr/ImperialAssaultTMG

Find a picture or make your own and print them off in decent quality. Then adhere them to something like this.

https://www.amazon.com/Beadaholique-100-Piece-Stickers-Bottle-Pendants/dp/B00AFRWIRQ

Find the right size for your needs. You can get them at craft stores as well. I just looked up epoxy stickers and didn't check dimensions tbh

We've used these for homemade tokens for other games in the past. It gives you a good bit of durability and if you have a steady hand when making the tokens, they look good enough to use as spares.

I’m sleeved (both arms), and I use these (on the bottom of the watch) - works perfectly. Some are even thin enough to charge through, otherwise you need to replace it every time you wear the watch.
