This happens when the glue adhering the felt to the spongey pad material wears out after long use. Can you fix it? Technically yeah, you'd have to peel off the felt without damaging anything, get a can of spray-glue, and stretch out the fabric over the spongey pad once more... Orrrr you can get a new one on amazon for barely ten bucks. Up to you =)

Better posture is sitting upright, feet on the floor and your head is up, typically with your eyes being right at the top of your monitor, it causes you to look down slightly, reducing eye strain. Wrist posture is a bit trickier, keyboard hand rests fingers on the board, with the palm of your hand and wrist stays off the desk, s'why you got arms on your chair. (I hope) Your mouse hand should rest like your keyboard hand, it helps to have a mouse pad with a wrist rest.

Source: Using computers for about 20 years, no carpal tunnel despite having more hours on a computer than damn near any other thing I've ever done in my life. I've also recently gotten glasses, when I would think someone who stares into monitors damn near all day would have gotten some many many years earlier.

Get one of these, seriously. The only kind of mouse pad I use. http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-WaveRest-Gel-Mouse--Black/dp/B00000JRRD/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396430328&sr=8-2&keywords=belkin+mouse+pad

Thank god they've been making them since the mid 90's, and don't show signs of stoppin'.

I use this.

I have a Belkin Waverest mousepad. I quite like it. I use it with a Logitech Performance MX mouse.

For peripherals that I find myself glad to have:

A mouse pad with a wrist rest. I own this one and it is very nice. The mouse pad doesn't make me frag better, but it makes my hand/wrist feel better than it would after a few hours of fragging and gives me better leverage to quickly move the mouse with less effort (you should be using your wrist as a pivot, not your elbow). Don't spend $40, that's just dumb.

High quality Headset. I have had a very high quality ($150 range i think) Sennheiser headset that I got as a christmas gift. 6 Years ago. A good set of headphones (or speakers if you don't need a mic) will noticeably improve your game sounds and music. Worth it if you have the money. Honestly, my friends have broken so many cheap $25 pairs over the years that they likely spent more than my headset cost.

Soundcard: if you have very high quality speakers, a sound card can improve audio. I have this one, and the difference is nothing profound, but it is noticeable. Particularly with music; games are mostly the same. I also got this as a gift, and I'm on the fence as to whether I would buy it with my own money again. For the love of god don't get a $200 sound card though, the normal human ear can't detect the difference in specs between an $80 card and a $200 card. Also, unless your processor is something like 5 years old, the effect of your sound solution on the processor is nil.

I also have a nice keyboard with backlighting and a nice gaming mouse, but I figure you know those are worth it.

To add about the wrist pad, get one that's about the height of your keyboard so your wrists won't fall into a weird angle causing stress, which I've noticed a lot of the stock wristpads that come with keyboards do cause your wrists to do.This one is pretty good. I got it on sale for about $6.

Another good one is this. They both sit about as high as a standard keyboard so you won't be causing any strain on your wrists.

A mouse-pad with a cushion may also help you, like this. It all comes down to preference though, as I like flat, large mousepads, but these can help reduce strain and keep your wrist straight.

It's very comfortable. Much more premium product than the M570. That said, I found myself getting one of these.

Also, maybe more recent revisions have fixed this issue, but the black marble it comes with is awful. Very inaccurate. The blue marble from the M570 fixed my issues with it.

Need this for gaming so I'm comfortable with my wrist. I have bad Tendonitis.

and the last time I licked something, it was my girlfriend's cheek cuz I was bored and I wanted to gross her out. I failed. :)

I sort of started devloping carpal tunnel (or it felt like it: wrist pain, forearm pain) so I started sitting with a good posture and more importantly I began to use a mousemat with a gel wrist-rest and a gel wrist-rest for my keyboard. The pain has barely ever returned since (only mildly if I spend a couple of days in a row gaming a lot).

I believe for me it was that I always used to have my wrists hanging off the edge of the desk. The sharp edge was digging into the underside of my wrist. It didn't happen as bad when I went to university and my desk had a rounded off edge.

So yeah, wrist-rests work magic.

I don't have any unique anniversary stories. I should Ive been with my SO for almost 8 years. Well, on our 2 year anniversary we had anal for the first time and I orgasmed from it, that was my first ever real orgasm.

what about one of those gel mouse mats?

u/EnigmaTrain · 1 pointr/Overwatch

hey everyone, I definitely recommend getting the more recent model of that anker vertical mouse, it's much more comfortable and durable in design. that being said i still use the older model for my office desk

i also recommend cheap-ish wrist support mousepads, such as

It doesn't get in the way that often. And if it ever does just turn the pad to the side so the wrist support part is out of the way. The pad itself is a typical sized mousepad and then the support is just added onto the edge of it. And no, my mousepad is not an anime girl with tits or ass for wrist support. It's just a plain black mousepad.

It's dangerous to go alone. Take this.

No, seriously. Buy a mousepad with a wrist support. Carpal tunnel syndrome is serious business.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have this. It's alright, after using it for a year, the pad seems to be getting a slightly squished. It's also quite small so if you use a low sensitivity then find something bigger. It's comfortable though.

Try seaching for "padded mousemat" instead of "wrist guard", might yeild some more results.

Remember, when using your mouse your elbow should be at a 90 degree angle and your wrist should be nice and straight.

When picking out a new mouse pad. You've got two options. Gel or foam. This gel mouse pad is very squishy to the touch and stays that way forever. While this memory foam mouse pad starts off with a bit of a firm feel to it. But conforms when you push down. After a few years of use it will start to take the shape of your wrist. You'll have a nice groove in the pad right where you rest your arm. I like the memory foam while my GF likes the gel kind.
