That's a monitor, not a TV.

and those are not exactly cheap

> I have been wanting to get a monitor for quite a while now, and I have been wondering if a 27" 1080p model would be too pixelated.

For most users, no, it will be fine. There's a group of us that prefers 1440p at that size, and a smaller group (myself included) that prefers 4k. But the VAST majority of PC users are 1080p or lower. If you're on a strict budget, a 1080p 27" monitor is a good basic option and there's no shame in that.

> I'd like the monitor I get to be IPS and have a response time of at least 4ms.

Absolutely ignore the response time. It's an advertised figure not based in reality. If you're choosing IPS or TN and not overdoing the overdrive setting then you won't notice ghosting in most cases. VA panels are a different story.

> Standard 60hz is fine for me, remember I'm in highschool. My max budget is $200.

Here's my personal preferences in this market.

If you plan to use it for movies. VA monitors will suite you much better. All flagship LED tvs intentionally use VA panels because they have a much higher native contrast ratio that IPS and TN can't reach. Movies will look amazing on this and has speakers. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013FDIUFA/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=55SJ7WAXXW8DGXN1B0BH&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=439659db-41fa-4a3b-8e0f-31b9d08e4568&pf_rd_i=desktop

For budget gaming/general purpose monitor, I came down to BenQ EW2750ZL and Samsung C27F390

I'm using ZOTAC GTX 1060 MINi D5 and Intel Core i5-6500. No ultra high resolution, but reasonably high end with current generation of games.

Help?

PS If you can suggest any good $200ish monitor, I appreciate it

I use this one and I can recommend it.

Already had V-Sync disabled and also had fps capped @144.

My Monitor is a BenQ EW2750

I just tried two other blue light solutions (sunset screen and I think iris) and they both have the same issue.

I was just googling possible solutions. Since I can't change it on the host (and have it stick), I can't change it in the steamlink, I'm now looking into monitors that have easy bluelight reduction built in and hotkeyed on a monitor button. (example benq eye-care tech). Since the steamlink only does 1080p I can get a fairly cheap monitor with that resolution that supports the tech so I may just shell out $169 for something such as this. Yeah I could probably tweak my current monitor similarly but I like that they made it quick and it would be an upgrade to the old vizio TV I'm using right now:

"Low Blue Light Mode
Blue spectrum light produced by regular computer monitors can lead to eyestrain, eye fatigue and possibly headaches. BenQ developed Low Blue Light technology with adjustable settings to reduce blue light emissions for more productive time spent in front of the computer. Easily switch to one of four preset Low Blue Light Modes from the OSD hot key (Multimedia – 30% reduction, Web-surfing – 50% reduction, Office – 60% reduction, Reading – 70% reduction), and reward your eyes without having to lose the visual enjoyment."
