BenQ are probably your best bet, no need to get anything above 60hz unless you're planning on using it for PC gaming too. If you are using it for PC, get a 144hz monitor.

This is what I use

Try this out, I and a lot of people I know have it and it does the job, not too expensive either.

60Hz is fine/ideal if we’re talking console gaming, any higher is unnecessary, 1ms response time is perfect. 24-27 inch is usually considered the best size range. Input lag is also pretty much non-existent here. You shouldn’t need much else.

BenQ ZOWIE RL2455 24 Inch Console e-Sports Gaming Monitor (Officially Licensed for PS4/PS4 Pro), 1 ms, Dark Grey https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01H07FVOK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9HCSCb9TTT36F - that is your best bet for a console monitor. Very cheap too.

To answer your question - 4K for singleplayer games, 1080p for FPS Games.

I use a BenQ XL2411Z personally (144hz 1ms response time), which is one of BenQ's most popular monitors for PC gaming, it's great, and they're definitely a brand I'd recommend.

Since you aren't going to surpass 60hz/60fps, a BenQ ZOWIE RL2455 would be a good choice. 60hz 1ms response time, basically BenQ's premier console gaming monitor, and well below 250 euro at 167 euro on amazon.de.

look for a monitor with a low response time. It will be mentioned in the product description as 1ms response time or 2ms response time. The lower the better.

Be careful when looking at PC Gaming branded monitors as some pricier ones have tech in them to support Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Freesync that will up the price but the Xbox will have no benefit from what so ever.

(I recently bought the LG one and it works great it was for my PC but use it more for my Xbox)

Just posted this to some one, this is a good one but if you can afford more go for an upgrade, i have a better version of this one and it is worth it.

If you are focused on competitive shooters, then you don't need to worry about HDR or 4k.

Based on what professional players use, I recommend a low input lag, low response time 24 inch 1080p monitor.

Good competitive gaming monitors for console aren't expensive at all. You can get a fancier one which would have better colours/contrast but you won't perform any better.

If you are going to use it with PC gaming, then you would benefit from higher refresh rates, such as 144hz or 240hz. Xbox One X supports 120hz, but no games seem to take advantage of that due to them running at 60FPS maximum.

If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask.

I'm looking into buying a second monitor. I have this one for a few years. My build is a i5 7500/rx480 setup. I want to stay at 1080p, but thinking about getting a freesynch monitor. I read here that it is great, but I'm not sure if they are worth it. I could get a higher refresh rate monitor without freesynch for pretty cheap like this one.

Any recommendations?
