I'm using a benq rl2455hm 1080p monitor 1ms gtg response time

That is of course if your looking for a 1080p gaming monitor, the below model does not support HDR or 4K

What's not to believe? You can look up independent testing on various monitors. 1-3ms response time
monitors have been widely available for quite some time and used for just about every other competitive game that's not melee or smash 64, the melee community has been extremely slow to adopt because of price, misinformation, and the misconception that all non CRT monitors are terrible. Truth is there's plenty of laggy CRT monitors out there.

CRT are so prevalent because they're cheap as hell so getting together a few hundred is no problem, whereas 200 high end monitors would run you about $40,000, which is pretty impossible for a grass roots community. Not to mention there's zero risk of someone stealing your old heavy CRT, and a potentially high risk of your nice new ASUS monitor being stolen, or broken, if it is tipped over, dropped, etc .

There's quite a few monitors out there that are perfect for melee BenQ is just the name that's most common.

Here's one in a good price range

Higher quality than the previous, more expensive though

Independent testing of a BenQ monitor, 1ms response time

I do and I would recommend getting one. I use a benq zowie 1 ms refresh rate 1080p 60hz 24inch e gaming monitor and it is amazing. I trying playing on my 42 inch tv this weekend and dayz was too dark even after I adjusted the picture settings. I can see so much more on my benq monitor. Now I play sitting a desk so the 24 inch is the perfect size for sitting so close to the monitor. I would like a 27 inch but that’s just me wanting what I don’t have. The 24 inch works great. I also bought a riser platform for my monitor since the model I bought doesn’t have adjustable height

I have a 1060 as well and I use this BenQ model . Actually I have the older model that this model replaced (the new one is actually cheaper!) and I am going to get a new one to complete my dual monitor setup since I just got a new desk with room to support it.

I've been using this monitor for about 2-3 years and it has been absolutely outstanding. I'm a 1080P gamer with no intentions to go beyond that anytime soon and this monitor fits every need I have.

1ms reponse time. Zero screen tearing. No burn in from constant use. Great color expression. Easy on the eyes with long time usage. No reflections or glare. And a bunch of built-in options and features for enhancing gaming that I've never really used personally.

If you are looking for a good monitor for 1080p I recommend this one.

You should go a little over your $250 price range and get the 27". That's what i play on.

Hi I found one that just slips in our price range and is a bit smaller than you asked for, it's a great monitor for gaming and has no input lag and 1ms response time

I was playing on a 32" TV for the last year and a half or so. I got myself a monitor for my birthday a few months ago and it made a WORLD of difference. Clearer, sharper picture, greatly reduced input lag. I got a BENQ gaming monitor off of amazon that cost me around $200 I think? Give me a second and I'll try to find the link.

Edit: this one. It's amazing, portable, and fits nicely on a desk or wherever you choose to game. I highly recommend.

What size do you want? I would get one that is 144hz with a 1ms response time. I think it's worth it to go a little smaller if it's response time is extremely low, especially for this game. Mine is a 32" curved I got for 399, but it has a 4ms response time.

This is a decent one with really good response time (1ms) for 169$ (24") the 27" version is 249$

If price is not much of a concern, then bigger is better. Just make sure its 144hz with a 1ms response time. You can get this amazing 32" curved for the low low price of 691$!

u/d3miks · 3 pointsr/PS4

this monitor is better

u/SabreAZ · 3 pointsr/mvci

Lets back up the train here. The best gaming monitors around have 10ms of display/input lag. A VERY COMMON misconception is people confuse the advertised response time with display lag. Response time has absolutely NOTHING to do with input lag. But having a very low response time is nice to have, to help prevent ghosting images. Can't really go wrong with the BenQ Zowie brand of monitors, as they are designed to

This is the basic model that any fighting game player will be fine using, as it is the standard:

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-ZOWIE-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKRLO

The step up model, and preferred model if you want h2h (Head to head, 2 monitor setup), you want this:

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-ZOWIE-Gaming-Monitor-Head/dp/B01H5KKRLY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509721163&sr=8-1&keywords=rl2460

This monitor has an HDMI out port, so you can easily connect two monitors for H2H setup, without the need of an HDMI signal splitter(which some can add lag if you do not do proper research). If you buy the cheaper, first option, you would need the HDMI splitter to make a H2H setup. Cost wise, it's better to go with the 2nd option. They are the exact same monitor, only difference is pretty much that HDMI out port, Which is really useful.

High refresh monitors are not necessary for fighters as they are all locked at 60fps.

u/Anitaliandude · 2 pointsr/Monitors

I advise you to sub to r/pcmasterrace for getting good pc advice.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H5KKRLO/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526129582&sr=8-1-fkmr0&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=xl2411+benq

If you check this monitor and the other ones listed as alternatives to it in the bottom of your page you can find even cheaper alternatives (these should be 60Hz though, you gotta check the full specs on the manufacturer's website)

The thing is, if you know your machine will be able to produce 100+ FPS in the titles you wanna play you gotta buy a 144Hz, if it hovers around 60/70/80 buy a 75Hz or a 60Hz. That's why I advised you to put together the pc first.

I think other Benq monitors do the same thing but I'm not sure.

u/zecquar · 2 pointsr/IndianGaming

It's nigh impossible to get a budget G-sync monitor with a fast refresh rate , you'll have to settle for a cheaper option

BenQ ZOWIE RL2455 offers a 75hz refresh rate ( when overclocked ) and a great 1ms response rate perfect for overwatch.
(http://amzn.to/2spRvFB) should save around 12k

Also if you're in Mumbai head over to Prime ABGB , you can get the Ryzen 5 1500x for around 14.5k , which is a significant upgrade

I seriously recommend more storage ,250 Gb just doesn't cut it anymore , you can get a 1TB hard disk for 3.5k

u/SlikeXar · 2 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

Honestly I had this monitor:
Benq Zowie: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H5KKRLO/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1497700273&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=benq%2Brl2755hm&dpPl=1&dpID=51IuvcXFC4L&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1

and it still serves well for playing CSGO. But I play many games and therefore I'm considering to buy a 144 - 240Hz monitor in summer. You actually don't need a 2K or 4K monitor since people still prefer 1080p for the stable fps.
I hope I could help you:)

u/EZScape · 2 pointsr/speedrun

Personally I use this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H5KKRLO/
1 ms input delay, and it's on the cheaper side of lower lag LEDs. As for converters I don't know specifically what you should get, but converting component to hdmi is converted easily and you really won't notice any delay difference so just about any converter is good. Composite on the other hand you're better off just getting a CRT. I just use a random $20 converter I found at Best Buy.

u/mattenno · 2 pointsr/xboxone
u/tristoune · 2 pointsr/pcgamingtechsupport

Then i'd recommend something like this.

Let me explain, in order of importance IMO :

  • First, it's 1080P, as you asked.

  • 24" is usually the sweet spot between screen size and place taken on a desk.

  • It's response time is 1 ms. What it means is that for any pixel on the screen it takes 1 ms(or less) to go from grey to any colour and then back to grey. Which means, hyper responsive display.

  • It's only 60 Hz but you don't seem to be playing competitve games, so i don't think it's really an issue. Higher frequencies allows for a smoother experience but it costs more, needs a powerfull rig and i really recommend having a model with Gsync, which makes it harder to find.

  • BenQ is a well known brand and i believe it's actually the one used on many PC esport tournaments so it should be good quality.

u/Xylonized · 2 pointsr/CoDCompetitive

NV4 you need red dot or elo, I personally use red dot. For other attachments I would go with grip, stock, long barrel, quickdraw. Since it's so easy to run tac, it's useless to use stuns, so just use tac mask, dead silence on your AR classes and then stack your gun with attachments like I said.

The iron sight on the ERAD is decent, so use that if you don't have any problems with it. I'd use quickdraw and grip and particle amp (long barrel) for sure and throw on stock if you like stock SMGs. Stock is preference on subs in this game, not like black ops 3 where you needed it.

For falling apart, that's a little more complex. Mainly, I would say just work on maintaining composure. Do things that you know work, don't get nervous and make dumb plays like double rushing something if you don't normally play like that. Honestly that comes with practice. Just focus on remaining calm and playing like you usually do.

I think that moving to a monitor with a 1ms response time will help you, but it won't make you a better player. If you're already bad, just having a 1ms monitor won't help anything. I'd say that if the money isn't a problem for you, of course go ahead and buy one. But if it would be a significant purchase for you, I'd say you can wait until you are easily able to win ladder matches and are players wagers/tournaments. But if you do have the money available, I would say go for it and get the monitor I linked below.

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-24-Inch-Console-eSports-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKRLO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479603147&sr=8-2&keywords=benq+rl2455hm

I have an older version of this monitor that I use with my PS4. Its really just designed for gaming and with my monitor, fast scrolling text looks like shit, like its ghosting behind it because it can't keep up. The model I'm using (RL2455HM, this is RL2455) works very well with FPS games, sports games, YouTube and Netflix. Its only 60Hz though, so do not use it for PC gaming. I'll list my own settings here as well. In my opinion, if you can afford it, just get a monitor and save yourself the headache of dealing with input lag. I got a monitor around 3 years ago and I'm never going back to playing on a TV.

Both of these have higher response times for gaming monitors 5ms and 4ms respectively. As gaming is best on 1ms response, but good luck getting an IPS monitor with 1ms. Both are good if the response time isn't an issue for you. I'd be inclined to go with the Asus, I've never had Asus or Acer monitors but having other products from them I always feel like Asus make better quality products than Acer.

In terms of other recommendations, BenQ do some 1ms highly rated monitors and they do some with black equaliser to make it easier to see into dark places from light places, especially useful for FPS. These are not IPS though.

$100 is not enough to get a decent gaming monitor, my recommendation is Benq RL2455, which costs $200. The most important aspects are input lag and response time, a good monitor should have around 10ms input lag, and 1ms response time.

no it will not make a significant difference tbh so don't expect to all of a sudden become much better.

Anyone who tells you so would be incorrect because there's no way the human brain can perceive 3ms.

That being said i would still probably get a normal gaming monitor if playing this game and other console fps is important to you. because what you have isn't even 1080p which is the standard res for these games.

Ah, I would recommend a BenQ. You can get one, that's 24 inches full HD. Running 144hz and is completely flicker free to reduce eye strain. It also has a black equalizer for visual clarity in dark scenes. Ultra fast 1ms response time. I would highly recommend. I have never owned one, but my friend does, and I have tried it. It will probably be my next monitor. Lot's of ESPORT teams for CS:GO are running this monitor.
Which makes sense, as every second counts. Higher HZ rates, allow for less rubber banding, and more smooth play.
They as well have a 27' Inch version, and some QHD displays. For only 200 dollars, it definitely worth looking into.

The difference is the ve248hr model will have 1 m/s response time as opposed to the 2 m/s response time of the ve248h. If you want 1 m/s response time you need to spend around $150-200. This is the 24" 1 m/s response time monitor I see recommended most. This seems like a comparable offer from Acer.

Edit: For what it's worth, I use a 3 m/s response monitor and I'm plenty competitive in pretty much everything I play. Could I be slightly better? Probably, but probably not a big enough difference to stretch the bank over.

> The Benq - http://amzn.to/2pWn8jW This is the more expensive one, and also smaller by 3 inches. It's a shade under $200, and is the preferred brand by gamers it appears. However, I'm a nerd and like big screens (I'm moving from a 55" 4K TV) so the next one caught my eye.

Thats the monitor I use. It sounds like you game in the same manor I do. I sometimes like to have an mmo up on the PC and Xbox going on this monitor. The speakers aren't very good on the monitor, but like you I use my headset for audio. I really like the monitor especially at the price point.

u/ShotdowN- · 1 pointr/CompetitiveHalo

I think you are confusing a 1ms monitor with 144hz, here is a ZOWIE 1ms response with ultra low input lag this is more of a ZOWIE for console players specifically

I'm in the market for 27" 144hz, any recommendations? I have a BenQ Zowie 24" 60hz before and was looking at the BenQ Zowie 27" 144hz

Now upgrade to a gaming monitor and you'll never want to play on a TV again. Could use something like this on console and it would work great:

Input lag is the same, none (I have a BenQ RL2455 1ms Gaming Monitor)though so if you want input lag reduction I highly recommend buying that. I didn't notice any frame drops at all it's a pretty smooth experience.

Interesting. Most gaming monitors are in the 24" to 27" range. Here's one that's a lot higher than your budget, but is one of the most popular due to everything in the description.

You can get a pretty solid monitor for that much, but likely nothing worth buying for a proper tv.

This one would suit your needs very well I'd imagine: BenQ 24"

I would recommend the BenQ RL2455. It’s a 60hz monitor which is perfect for console.

If the only thing you need a new display for is your PS4, I suggest getting a monitor instead of a TV. Monitors tend to have lower response times, which makes the difference for games, especially shooters, and are generally better for gaming.

I have had a BenQ GL2760H (27'', 60Hz) monitor for the past 5 years and it hasn't failed me yet *knocks on wood*. Although I would probably recommend getting a 24" display, 27 is a little too much for playing video games sitting at a desk, imo.

If it were me buying a new display, I probably would get this, although I'm a little biased towards BenQ based on my experience with my own monitor. What you want to look for is at least a 1920x1080 (1080p), 60Hz (up to 60FPS) display with a low response time/input lag (1ms).

If you just want to game in 1080P at 60 hz something like this will probably work just fine:

I'm looking for a monitor but I don't know how to filter my searches.

What resolution or aspect ration should I be getting or does that not matter?
Also I've seen some LED or LCD things
any brands that are reliable or I should stay away from?

I see this one on amazon with a lot of reviews
https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-Console-eSports-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKRLO/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1509842033&sr=1-10&keywords=monitor&th=1

Should I be looking for something around these specs?
Also, do I need to upgrade my graphics card if I get a better monitor?

The monitor I'm using right now is from a long time ago.\
Its the HP W1907

u/singu_fnstr8 · 1 pointr/buildapc

is this monitor upgrade worth it?

My Current Monitor I'm planning to sell it for 80-100 (based on the prices I see around eBay, perfect condition, 2.5 years old)

I'm looking to upgrade into this or the 27" version for $249.

I'm using a gtx 970 and i5 4460, I only game on 1080p. Games I play most of the time are Dota2 and Overwatch. Some AAA games as well like AC series and some if the prices are right.

u/Amonistlin · 1 pointr/Monitors

u/Brazenology · 1 pointr/modernwarfare

Not sure how cheap you're looking at but this is my current console monitor. The essentials you'll want in a monitor specifically for consoles is 60Hz, 1ms response time and 1080p or 4K if within you're budget but is not a necessity.

u/Reprivation · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

Idk what is required to run it smoothly but any pc that costs more than 600 should be able to do it amazingly 😂. Don't actually go that high, look around but that's my advice

Also when buying a monitor, this one is 75 Hz and is the best bang for your buck! Makes playing on my xbox feel ALMOST identical to playing on my 1300 ASUS laptop!

If input lag is your issue make sure you have v sync turned off as well. I used to play on a t.v. with 40-50 ms+ of input lag. This monitor minimizes it to less than 10 which is rated as basically the best you can get

I used a BenQ monitor for about 2 years and it was the best gaming investment I have ever made. Picture and color is great. Response time is superb. Since you aren't using a PC, you can afford this monitor because is only comes with 60hz refresh rate (which is what console can top out at). I highly recommend this monitor if you are testing out whether you like monitors or not. Only downfall is the built in speakers are kinda tinny. If you use a headset primarily or just buy computer speakers for $25-$50, you should be good to go! https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Console-eSports-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKRLO/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

I would wait to get a more expensive model until the ps5 is actually dropped. So 1. you can know what specs it’s capable of so you know what monitor to buy and 2. because the monitor technology is getting cheaper and a will probably save you money when the time comes to get a 4K etc

Yea, id get a 24 inch - 27 inch monitor with “1 ms” response time, big tvs usually have latge response time.

and the “1 ms” isnt really a think its kinda a marketing gimmich but it means its atleast lower then a tv.

heres a monitor i recommend, i got it for xbox gaming in my room. I love it but now use it as a secondary monitor for pc gaming: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H5KKRLO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_C8LRDb6Z168D7
