Buy yourself a white noise machine. I bought one when I was living in Brooklyn. I was sick of being woken up by car alarms and random yelling. Blankets the whole room in a soothing "hum".

Have you tried using a white noise machine like this one? I used to sleep with a similar gadget right next to me and it really helped.

Overall, the best thing you can do is to try not to focus on your tinnitus in an emotional sense. Don't get caught in the loop of "I wish this would stop -> I'm miserable because this won't stop -> It won't stop because I'm focusing on it -> I wish this would stop..."

This one from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H6WXUX8/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_4ciHzbCY18D5Q there is a baby specific version too. I originally bought this for me, but I'm deciding to save it for the nursery.

There are a couple different options in my opinion... A more confrontational approach would be to next time you hear the moaning, casually say something along the lines of, "Hey man.. I'm trying to sleep right now. Can you be quiet?" Any normal person would feel totally embarrassed and be careful to not moan. He probably thinks you are asleep and can't hear him.

OR a less confrontational approach would be to get one of those privacy tents which look a little dumb, but could offer you some nice privacy and a white noise machine to muffle out the noise. Here is a link to buy a a privacy tent and to buy a white noise machine here or just hook your phone up to a speaker and play white noise from youtube. That could also double as a confrontational approach because he might get the hint that you can hear his late night rub down sessions lol. Or just buy some cheap earplugs! The silicone ear plugs legit block out all noise.

Hello 💙 might sound weird but this salt lamp would help me relax 💖 they clean the air and I feel like that would help me stay calm in my home 💙

I also have this essential oil diffuser on my random wants list that would help me relax by releasing calming scents into the air 😍😍

The last thing I have is a sound machine on my list that I would love because I need sound to fall asleep, but the TV is distracting, plus the light keeps me up. This would allow me to fall asleep to sound, without the light 💖

Good luck with your surgery 💖 I would take a good book with you to read if that's your thing 💙

Thanks for the contest 😊😊

I'm definitely jealous of your flip phone. I reverted during my senior year of high school, and I've been debating going back again. How are you liking it so far?

Unfortunately I haven't found a good one. I did purchase this kitchen timer off of amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016KDK7NA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I'm planning on using the vibrate setting, although I haven't been able to meditate the past few weeks - I found bed bugs in my apartment :(

I also bought this off of amazon to sleep to: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H6WXUX8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has a timer for 15, 30, and 60 minutes. So I could set the timer, and I'll know that I'm done once it stops. I might try that out, although I usually prefer silence.

I have this one and it’s amazing. It’s $10 more than the one you posted but I recommend it highly. The regular “white noise” setting scares the crap out of my kid, so thankfully there are multiple options. Ocean sound works well for us.

Yess, this is excellent advice!! We share a bedroom with our son and have invested in these black out curtains

we also have this white noise machine which is inexpensive and works wonders (our alexa echo dot kept fading in and out after an hour and waking him, it was so annoying).

the blackout curtains hide any light from electronics that might distract him and add to the dark, nighttime effect. sleep training while room sharing is definitely possible!

we didnt sleep train until he was 5 months old though, id give your little one more time.

NTA. This dude lives in an apartment building. It'd be one thing if you were throwing midnight parties or having extremely loud sex at 4 in the morning, but if you're just going about your business? What does he expect when he lives in an apartment building?

If it's worth it to you to stop the stress of him harassing you, you could offer to buy him a cheap white noise machine or something to block out the sound of... your existence. I'm not saying you owe him this, you absolutely don't. But $20 might make this problem go away. It'd mean letting him "get his way", but at the end of the day, worry about yourself. If $20 lets you stay in the apartment, not get harassed, and go about your life as normal? Might be worth it.

We have used this one from Amazon for 15mo now. We use it plugged in, but it can be run on batteries which has been helpful a handful of times while traveling/camping. It has different sound settings, adjustable volume (so you can make it quieter over time to wean babe off of needing it) and it was less than $20!

We bought this a couple weeks ago and it definitely helps. Helps me too since he’s in our room
