It goes in a smoothie/shake bottle and helps mix it when you shake the bottle.

Look here's what I do:

  • Get a blender bottle, for convenience sake. It works really well and they're pretty cheap. I use the standard one.
    Amazon Link

  • Then get some protein. Flavored protein is fucking disgusting IMO so I get this:
    Amazon Link
Maybe there is a better flavorless protein out there but I can't find on, and this has worked pretty well.

  • Get some oats, I use these:
    Amazon Link
This is a box with a fuckton of oats in it.

I pour a bit of milf into the bottle (to avoid clumping) and grind 1 cup of oats with the coffee grinder then pour them into the bottle.
Then depending on the amount of protein you need put a couple scoops into the bottle. Then toss your creatine in there. I don't put bananas in the shake but you could, I'd probably have to use my blender for that though.

Anyway now you have a bottle with a shit ton of powder in it. Add some more milk but save room for:

Chocolate syrup. (or whatever type of flavoring you want) I put a bunch in there, like 2 big squirts, but find out however much you need to make it taste good.

Then I take a big scoop of peanut butter and toss it in there. I'm not sure how much I put in but I'm pretty consistent, just be consistent. I think it's between 2 and a half and 3 tablespoons. Add milk till it's mostly full. Then shake the shit out of the bottle like you were trying to jerk off the demon from This is the End. The shake will be thick as balls so just open your throat and chug it Remy laCroix.

Wow, look at all that protein, look at all of those calories you got (1k +) without drinking a disgusting weight gainer.

You could also just buy a new one for like 8$. I mean a bottle of vinegar is a few bucks + the cost of your time/effort.

u/zomgwtfbbq · 5 pointsr/shittykickstarters

> I personally don't like washing the shaker bottle

Wait, what? Why? I'm as lazy as the next guy about doing dishes but, uhh, I have about 4 of these things. I use one for a few days and then just chuck it in the dishwasher and grab another.

u/Ghigs · 5 pointsr/NoStupidQuestions

You should get one of those protein bottles that comes with a shaking ball.

https://www.amazon.com/BlenderBottle-Classic-Shaker-Bottle-28-Ounce/dp/B00MVMCUK8

I haven't used this one, but it looks pretty standard. That should make it less clumpy.

u/Soyfoo · 4 pointsr/soylent

This is the exact cup I use:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MVMCUK8
I don't think wiping would be clean enough for me, but a few rinses get's it very clean.
Protip: put just enough water in the bottom to cover the whisk ball prior to putting the powder in.

u/CrunchyCryptoCereal · 4 pointsr/soylent

Blender Bottle, shake the hell out of it, and then put it in the fridge overnight.

Having time to sit eliminates the chalkiness, and being very cold feels more like chocolate milk or a milkshake than a protein drink.

u/A-Fuel · 3 pointsr/soylent

Would people be interested in paying a few dollars more to receive a blender bottle? I find these to be the best and least messy way to take soylent on the go, always keeps it consistent and tasty.

Talking about something like this for maybe 5 dollars, and just offering it alongside the meal packs.

As a high school student in the past I agree that eating breakfast bright and early sucked. I too would skip it and it turned out terrible. This is where meal prepping comes in handy. Those bulk burritos that /u/peaches017 posted look delicious. An alternative that you can do is take a protein shake to school. I purchased a Blenderbottle and protein powder from amazon. I mix that with Almond milk and have a shake. It keeps me satisfied and full for about 3 hours and is a great source of energy. Protein = energy.

Start cooking. If your family wont join you on your journey, then cook everything for yourself. As long as they are there for you and are willing to purchase the foods you need, that is awesome. I would recommend sitting down and coming up with a plan for yourself. Once you have that plan, go to your parents and tell them it. Make sure they are always there to support you in this and willing to help every step of the way. Find a local gym and see if they will pay for it. Most gyms are only $20 a month and very reasonable. I am personally terrified of running outside and having people look at me. I feel comfortable in a gym where everyone is there for the same reason. That is just me. If you can go outside and exercise, do it. But remember to push yourself. If you are not pushing yourself you wont get results. My body hurts after a work out and is sore the next day. A good hurt not a bad hurt.

As for dumbbell workouts, try and do less and make sure the quality of the workout is good. When I lift with my trainer I only lift dumbbells about 12 times in three sets. So to explain further, I do five different lifts, three times. As an example I will do shoulder press, row, lateral raise, tricep extension, and front press. I do each of these 12 times for a total of 60. One set for me is 60. Then I rest for one minute and start my next set. I do three sets total. A quick google search and I found this website for you. Try and pick a lift from each category and lift Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Don't over do it though. If you feel pain stop. The first week will be tough but as you go it will become easier. Once it it too easy, get heavier weights. Hopefully at this point you have joined a gym where they have everything you need.

I do not recommend you do the snacking thing you talked about. You need to eat three meals a day that fill you. By all means bring a snack to have during the day. An apple, a small bag of trail mix, protein bar. Anything that is healthy. When you have small meals and snack during the day, you train your body to always be hungry. Right now you want to fill your body with three really good/healthy meals. What works for her may not work for you. If you finish a meal and you are still hungry, drink a glass of water and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Sometimes food just needs to reach your stomach as your brain hasn't processed the fact that you just ate. If you are still hungry, have veggies.

Carbs - There are good carbs and bad carbs out there in the world. A carb is something that is necessary for us and part of our diet. I apologize before because I confused you. I don't eat bad carbs anymore. I have completely cut out bad carbs which was like 75% of what I used to eat. The difference between then and now is staggering. The good carbs are food that are high in fiber and low in sugars. Bad carbs, you guessed it, high in sugar and low in fiber. Bad carbs are called simple carbs and do nothing for you and your body. Pasta, candy, soda, white bread, white rice, and pastries. Stay away from these. They will help you store fat and do nothing for a healthy diet. Instead focus on good carbs. Fruit, grains, corn, sweet potatoes, potatoes (small not large), protein bars, and popcorn. (side note, popcorn isnt bad for you. I have 100 calories bags of popcorn that I microwave when I need a sweet.)

When I first started dieting I had a carb every so often. As of now I have cut them out and replaced them with more veggies. I enjoy peas and broccoli now and I am enjoying a more healthy lifestyle. Please do feel free to reach out to me. I graduated college with a degree in Sports Management and live for this stuff. I unfortunately let myself go and lost control. I am on the same journey as you to regain control of my body. Good luck with everything and don't hesitate to message me.

Everybody loves blender bottles. Well, mostly. Some people prefer glass. In that case there are plenty of wide mouth jars that fit the bill.

Wide mouths for adding powder/cleaning. Easy to seal for shaking. Feel free to shop around and find better deals than my hasty links. These are also easy to find in grocery stores in my experience.

u/esccx · 2 pointsr/soylent

I think hands-down is a Blender Bottle. They're used to mix protein shakes and can handle soylent very easily. I have several blender bottles just for soylent. Example

u/collegiateballer · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Yeah, can be found at pretty much every supplement store (think GNC), and Amazon. Just stick it in a shaker and mix it. You can find shaker cups at the same places that you can find the protein. Personally, I like the Blender Bottle to mix my shakes.

u/flamingopanic · 2 pointsr/ChronicPain

I'd recommend getting a little of each and seeing which ones help your pain the best (avoid getting any tinctures, extracts, or anything stronger than regular kratom, as this will be very strong and increase your tolerance). You'll want to get a kitchen scale to measure out your doses accurately (one that measures in grams).

Start low, with 3 grams or so, and increase by 0.5 g each time you take it until you get the results you are looking for. Then stay at that dose as long as possible. Make sure you take it when you get up and have an empty stomach, and avoid taking it with dairy, as this will coat your stomach and hamper the effects.

I also recommend getting a blender bottle to mix it in a liquid. I recommend shaking it up with either strong orange juice (get frozen OJ and use a bit less water than it calls for) or chocolate or dark chocolate almond milk. It tastes like shit, so be prepared for that.

It also makes some people nauseated, so I recommend getting some Chimes ginger chews and eating 2 of those after you take your kratom so that your tummy is okay. Ginger also has some antiinflammatory properties itself.

I take 2 of these capsules about 30 minutes prior to taking my kratom, as it is said to potentiate the kratom and also have antiinflammatory properties, and then I take 1.5 g agmatine sulfate right before taking my kratom, as it helps keep tolerance down and helps keep any withdrawals at bay if I can't take my kratom right on time.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me. I truly believe that kratom saved my life. I'm still in pain, obviously, but it treats it well enough (and without being a drugged up zombie) that it's worth it. It does still make you a bit high when you take a higher dose, but nothing on the level of prescription narcotics.

Also, you should visit /r/kratom and/or /r/KratomKorner. Those are both great communities for people who use kratom, and you can get answers to a lot of your questions there. Good luck! I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

u/ImOnArtesia · 2 pointsr/soylent

I recently saw some at my local Whole Foods. Other grocery stores and places like CVS might as well. Amazon also has non-electronic ones for $6. Here's the one I use to great success: http://www.amazon.com/BlenderBottle-Classic-Shaker-Bottle-Clear/dp/B00MVMCUK8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454103614&sr=8-1&keywords=blender+bottle

Every time I see your username, I picture one of these lol

I might just try this blender ball bottle of witch you speak...

u/etskinner · 2 pointsr/soylent

^ This. Get yourself a couple blender bottles and never look back, batching isn't worth the effort in my opinion, unless you'll eat it all same day.

Eat and drink before working out. At least a protein bar or something of that nature. You are working out dehydrated and with low energy stores which is detrimental to building muscle. That's also a good deal of caffeine to have on an empty stomach.

If you want to keep the eating time down just make a protein shake and slam it or bring it to the gym with you. Here's what I do a couple times a day:

  • Blender Bottle

  • Almond Milk

  • Protein Powder

  • PBfit (peanut butter powder which is less fat and mixes easier without blending)

  • creatine

  • Banana (for eating, not putting in blender bottle)

If you actually have time to blend a full protein shake you can add real peanut butter and bananas to it. I don't like blending my shakes because they are too loud early in the morning and also creates a lot of cleanup time.
u/gaybewb · 2 pointsr/kratom

I've been known to use this shaker cup with all sorts of supplements already in it as part of my wellness regimen. OJ and green powder make a brown color that looks a lot like many protein powders on the market. Plus, everybody will think you're just trying to get fit! My personal preference is Trop 50. It's light(thin?), keeps calories down, and even has one with extra calcium and vitamin D. Good luck and be careful!
Edit: It's also completely sealed so you can toss it in your bag and keep it there 'til you're ready to shake and take it.

Blender bottle.

Legit go to any Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, etc and you can cop one of these for like $8. These are the standard protein shake blender bottles. The size is perfect and they last a long time. Easy to wash too. I've been using mine for like 5 years. It comes with a little spiral metal ball but that's only necessary if you're making a really thick shake/smoothie, which is not the case with Soylent, so you can just ignore it (it's a pain in the ass to clean).

u/rhill2073 · 2 pointsr/ketochow

I use a standard Blender Bottle. The 1.5 blends really well in it. If I'm on the road all week, I'll bring the bottle with me. If I'm out for the day, I'll still use the BB, but transfer to smaller Ball jars with plastic lids. Those lids are great, they don't leak, and the mason jars will not stink when I inevitably leave it in my truck and forget about it.

u/itspclar · 1 pointr/soylent

I’ve purchased a blender bottle to help make sure that the powder stays mixed and doesn’t clump or sink to the bottom and has a good texture. As for taste here are some of my recipes:

Coffee powder:
Fill the empty blender bottle with water and set the metal thingy aside for now.
Add your favourite instant coffee in whatever amount the package recommends for the water you have in the bottle.
Throw in some soylent powder.
Optional: add sugar
Put the metal ball on top of the floating powder, screw the lid tight and shake.

Chocolate soylent:
Fry’s Cocoa - about 1 tabelspoon
Add Soylent and prep as you did for the coffee one.

Cinnamon:
Soylent
Cinnamon to taste, shaking vigorously as you add

Looking to try pumpkin spice variants once the fall is here. These recipes really taste terrific and don’t add anymore prep time to the powdered stuff while maintaining the overall healthy nature of soylent.

I bought this a month ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MVMCUK8

Then, I put ice cubes in with it, and bring a cold water bottle with me. I mix it once I'm done my workout and it's plenty cold.

Hope that helps!

I'm not sure of your financial situation, but here is one for $7.45. They are convenient and worth the money imo. Just clean it out after you use it.

I put one scoop of protein powder into a blender bottle and fill it with water until it's almost totally full (maybe an inch of head room). I close the lid (making sure it snaps shut!), shake for maybe 30 seconds to combine, then drink.

Sometimes I'll add more ingredients, or use almond milk instead of water. Some people like adding berries or bananas, peanut butter, and/or chia seeds. Really, it depends what you're looking for: if you want a high-calorie shake that can replace your lunch, you might want some of those caloric ingredients. I usually drink my shakes for breakfast, so protein powder + water is enough for me!

u/Sarcastic_Gecko · 1 pointr/loseit

Yep absolutely. I personally have one of these for my protein: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00MVMCUK8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5goSBb4TKRZ21

I use this bottle:

https://www.amazon.ca/BlenderBottle-Classic-Shaker-Bottle-28-Ounce/dp/B00MVMCUK8

I sterilized it in my dishwasher (I have a sterilize setting) and have been using it to hold mixed formula. It has been working great.

u/joeality · 1 pointr/Fitness

Tbh it's not that bad.

I have a shaker bottle and it's basically 5 times full each day. Have one at each meal and one inbetween meals and you're good. It ends up being once every 3 hours.

I personally like the taste of milk so it worked for me really well plus liquids don't make me feel as full as solids so it was easier to keep eating.

Most importantly I could feel the results. I would go to the gym feeling great, absolutely crush it and feel great the next day with really limited soreness. It was incredible.

u/thapol · 1 pointr/soylent

Given the restriction on active / electrical blenders, try a shaker bottle. That should make a pretty decent difference.
