Wood was about $80.

Screws, steel ties, pipe, and wood boring bit about $160.

I could have bought something like this on amazon for around the same price, but this was fun project to do and customizable with the color. The one on amazon is also 6'10'', which would only give me 1" for pullups.

I’ve been using this rack off an on for a couple years now. One of the local gyms here was selling them and my fiancé at the time picked one up. I’ve never loaded up more than 315, but it’s rated at 500 pounds I believe. Simple, but works.

A user just posted his DIY wooden power rack that he built for around $160. He also posted an Amazon link to a cheap metal power rack at $262. There are other power racks on amazon, but other than the reviews (fake or real), we don't know how they stack up.

Assuming you aren't lifting super big weight, I guess those are an ever cheaper option.
