Reddit reviews Brainwavz HM9 Hi-Fi Noise Isolating Headphones

First of all, the two cheap ones are both refurbished. One seller is 2 stars and the other has just launched, so I would say no.

Looking at the new ones, the prices are that much different so I would just go with Amazon.

I'm also a top reviewer who has reviewed a bunch of $300 and under headphones and I would say that there is not a lot of difference between any $100-$300 headphones.

brainwavz hm9 are supposed to ahve isolation that is almost comparable to gun range earmuff things. very bass heavy tho

The HM9s have nice bass and seal pretty well. I think they are technically on-ear, but they are really comfy.

While not the most neutral the HM9's will fit the bill in price, closedness and one sided 3.5mm for theboompro.

The reviews on the Brainwavz HM9 are kinda mixed. I'm worried it's too bass heavy. As for the SoundMagic HP150, which looks like its what im looking for. The only thing that I was able to find the HP151, which from its only review, says its more strudy.

• Budget: $200 max, though i'd prefer just over $100
  
• Source: Computer audio port/USB port
  
• Isolation: Noise cancelling or good isolation for an office while I program
  
• Pref. Type: Around ear. Really anything that isn't an earbud is fine though. I don't want to replace batteries though, so usb or dc recharging options are a must
  
• Comfort: A lot. I'll be using these without music or with just soft music to drown out noise, so the audio quality isn't terribly important, though I'd certainly like something that sounded at least as good as the cheap 15$ headphones I normally buy
  
• Listening to: Post rock, movie soundtracks, and whatever classical and pop rock pandora decides I need to hear at the moment.
