I have to second a Brother laser printer. I have the MFCL2740DW. I got it because:

  • Google Cloud Print support.
  • Fairly cheap for laser.
  • Duplex print + scan.
  • Wireless and wired network support.

OP, if you are okay with black-and-white only the MFCL2740DW is a good option, though it sounds like you might not be. The MFC9330CDW does color, but is significantly more costly.

I'd recommend going laser over inkjet because they last much longer. The toner is also cheaper per print.

My old printer was a Epson multifuntion. It was okay, but it was an inkjet. The most annoying thing was how fast it went through ink. I felt like I was replacing ink twice a year even though I didn't print that much. I've had this one since October, printed 326 pages, and it's reporting about 2/3 of the toner left.

This one is usually about $150-$200 when available.

Yeah, I found this Brother MFCL2740DW which claims duplex scanning for $200, but one of the reviewers complained that he couldn't get clean scans because it was one camera capturing both sides through the paper.

What are your thoughts on that?
