this is such a good idea!! i found this palette organizer on amazon that i've been waiting to re-stock, but actually now i think i'm going to copy your idea!

I just got this organizer from byAlegory on amazon (you can get a discount code to use on Amazon if you do email signup on byAlegory's website) and I love it, they show it used standing up but I laid it down so my palettes can be stored vertically (I have a lot of palettes....) check out the photos in the review section of the Amazon listing

Congrats on the big step (of moving in together lol)! You're an awesome person for wanting to help your SO feel at home- and this is a really great way!

As for what you could add to the vanity, it really depends. Do you know what she has more of? If you know she has a large lipstick collection, something like this may help her organize that. Or, if she's a palette collector, this may be good for her.

I personally have a smaller collection, so having the makeup I use on a daily basis in this organizer has worked really well for me.

Not OP, but it looks like this one

ByAlegory makes these nifty acrylic palette holders that are vertical. So instead of stacking them, they have an acrylic divider to separate the palettes. There are two sizes - one for longer palettes (like the naked palette) and one for shorter palettes.

They sell these on amazon. If you search “byAlegory Acrylic Palette Organizer” they should come up!

When I was buying my little acrylic go carry-all for my perfumes, I checked out a few jewelry boxes. They had soft fabric padded sections that you could press your vial into. The only reason I did not go with them is because once you stick your vial into it you can't see what it is unless the name is on the top. And they all had lids, so no tall bottles.
