Sure it would be fun to own three great $5,000 watches --

Since I live in the real world (where I swim, travel to touristy areas, go to the gym, go to bars, fall down occasionally) I'm going to need a G-Shock and I like my G-Shocks on the combi bracelet. Now, something nice as a nicer daily driver. The [Nomos Club Campus 38] (https://www.nomos-store.com/en/Watches/Model-series/Club/Watches-with-manual-winding/Club-38-Campus-stainless-steel-back.html) fits the bill, fits my wrist, and can go from cargo shorts to sports coats. $2,000 with the display back.

That should leave me [enough] (http://www.chrono24.com/seiko/grand-seiko--id6442856.htm) to buy a 9S64 Grand Seiko... let's say the [SBGW253] (http://www.grand-seiko.com/collections/SBGW253) "reissue" of the first Grand Seiko in stainless steel. Totally under the radar. Totally cool.

Casio sells spare parts, so I would contact them with the model number. If not, I’d just buy the whole watch, as it’s only like $50 more, and has a blacked out face.

You may like the G-shock GW-5610bc-1. It has solar power, syncs with the atomic time signal, has a composite resin and metal bracelet, and it's extremely rugged.

This model is the closest thing that checks most of your boxes. However, it does not have a screwback.

As far as I know the only screwback square G-Shock in current production is the GW- 5000. I don't think that model is available with a clasp band but I'm sure you could buy one separately and put it on. Its over $300 right now though and factoring in buying the band separately it would probably add up to close to $400.
That is for the positive display model.
A GW-5000B with a negative display was made for a very short time in Japan but it's become kind of a collectors item and it's very expensive if you can even find it.

I got mine "from Tokyo" - friend picked it up for me on a trip.

amazon is about $50 more.. mine was ~15700 yen ... roughly $150/$160

I've had this watch for a few years now, but I don't wear it as much as I used to and thought a change of pace would be nice. There's a variant of this watch which is the same thing as far as function goes, except the display is white-on-black instead of black-on-white. I think it looks cool, but I can't justify buying what's fundamentally the same watch again, no matter how hard I try. I understand that some people have difficulty reading it so I thought maybe if someone out there experienced that or is just bored of it like I am with this one, they might be up for trading. I'm a function-follows-form sort of person so I probably won't mind as much. Everything works great and as expected.

I doubt you'll find a metal band for the g511. That's a very specific connection size/shape, it looks like.

This 5610 comes to mind, for a metal bracelet.
