Emulate it. Absolutely worth it.
If you have reservations about pirating an ISO you can find original copies at used game stores but they can be as pricey as $60. I bought a copy for $40 and have no regrets because its pretty damn close to my all time favorite game.
Edit: Used copies start at $37 on Amazon.

Under the seller name, click on the % next to the stars. It will take you to the seller's profile page. There, in the feedback tab, browse through the pages and look for the good and bad ones to get an idea.
You can always emulate it. If you feel funny about that, you can always buy the original PS1 disc and rip it yourself. But it runs great on ePSXe.
Well, to be fair a lot of these games are classics. Really great, critically acclaimed masterpieces selling for 10 bucks is not a lot at all. But, you COULD always buy them used, right?
