This is good advice. A summary of my bacne treatment, learned from /r/SkincareAddiction:

I use to have bacne*. Trt didn’t really amplify it, but it didn’t help it either.

I shower twice a day, in the morning I do a salicylic wash ( https://www.amazon.com/CeraVe-Salicylic-Ounce-Fragrance-Exfoliate/dp/B077TWXCQV/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=salycic+acid+body+wash&qid=1566330525&s=gateway&sprefix=salycic+acid+bo&sr=8-3 ). Put it on with a brush or luffaand let it sit on your skin for 3-4 min! Very important to let it sit.

In the afternoon after the gym step one is a benzoyl peroxide wash, a 10% works a lot better for me than the 4%. But I know some people can’t handle the 10% ( https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Song-Benzoyl-Peroxide-Treatment/dp/B07GJLMK14/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=acne+wash&qid=1566330637&s=gateway&sr=8-3). Again let it sit on your skin for 3-4 min after applying before rinsing. Step 2 (https://www.amazon.com/Noble-Formula-Pyrithione-Vegan-Butter/dp/B00606RORK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?keywords=zinc+soap&qid=1566330752&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFLSEVEVlNQMFk3S0EmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA3NDcyOTMzUlUyRENFS0RZTUZZJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2OTM4OTUyUVAzMkRYRU5HRkk5JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= ) apply this to your skin with a luffa and let sit 1-2 minutes, if you can have someone apply it directly to your back that helps tremendously.

You should see difference in 30-45 days. Be warned, it gets worse before it gets better. Week 2-3 people are like wtf and will quit, don’t. Just keep washing and cleansing.

Also, if you use conditioner a lot. Rinse your head forward not back. I’ve found that conditioner with sulfides make acne a lot worse.

Day 90 your skin should be completely clear. I love my skin now. Kind of “time consuming” and no such thing as a quick shower anymore. But can wear a tank top or work on my cars outside with no shirt and not have any worries about my skin being judged.

Oooooh! I have this amazing problem too! Isn't it the best? :)

The three (four?) things I've found that helped me the most (and trust me I've tried SO MANY) are this Cerave bodywash scrubbed on using this scrubbie, followed after shower/bath with this aftershave and then this lotion after you give the aftershave time to air dry. I can also tell you that I've used that Buf Puf for probably a decade now and that alone doesn't do the trick. It wasn't until I got the other 3 products that I noticed a significant difference. Sadly, I started using all 3 at the exact same time, so I'm not sure which of the 3 are most helpful if you wanted to start slow and try one at a time.

I can tell you that shaving cream doesn't do anything for me in helping to prevent. And I've tried this after-shave powder and found it to be nice but not helpful for what I need. I sweat too much for a light powder to help with anything!

Edit: Just a side note - that Cerave lotion burns when you apply it right after shaving. I still do it and the burning stops after a second, but wanted to give fair warning!

I don’t get cysts but I end up with some bacne if I’ve been working out or sweating a bunch. Since I started using this body wash regularly, I’ve been 98% clear. I’m thinking the salicylic acid should help exfoliate some of those red marks away but it may take some time.

I live in the literal desert so for me its not a film its protecting me from insta-dry death :p If you are an oily type, and you said you wanted something for exfoliation? I just looked and CeraVe has this, chemical and everything:

Seems pretty neat, they have a moisturizer to match too.

I've decided to get more serious in trying to combat by PIH and need some help in formulating a new skincare routine. I usually do my routine every 2 days after I shower and am treating PIH primarily on my chest, back and shoulders. Whatever I plan on using on my face I was also planning on using there too.

My main problem is trying to figure out when to apply a Brooklyn Botany Vitiman C Serum, TO Niacinamide, and Rosehip Oil. My theorized routine is as follows:

-----

CeraVe SA Body Wash

Eucerin In-Shower Body Lotion

Alpha Skin Care Body Lotion, 12% Glycolic AHA

To Ordinary Arbutin

CeraVa Moisturizing Cream (for face, back, shoulder and chest)

Some other generic lotion for everywhere else

Sunscreen

-----

Where should I fit the Serum, Niacinamide and Rosehip Oil, and why? I've been reading that the Serum could come after AHA, but it interferes with Niacinamide, which I have no idea where that would go and why it interferes. I also read that the Rosehip Oil can be mixed with my Moisturizing Cream; just add a few drops.

edit and addition - My current routine is a simple body wash, Alpha Skin Care AHA 10% and some Hydroquinone cream (both on face, shoulder, back and chest), Moisturize then Aloe Vera. My skin type is also pretty normal, it didn't break out or anything when I first ever introduced the AHA, and with age my skin has seemed to become stable; I don't break out very often anymore, just recovering.
