For a forward facing harness or high back booster, I highly recommend the Harmony Defender 360. I've got one, and it's just as narrow as my Diono Radian (actually, I think it might be a half inch narrower, but it's been a while since I've done that research), much lighter, and much cheaper. It doesn't have all the fancy gear the Dionos do, but it goes from forward facing harness to high back booster to backless booster. As for "just" a booster, I've got my 5 year old in a Chicco Kidfit that I really like and isn't very wide. I found mine on Chicco's website on clearance and only paid $60 for it, so you could keep an eye out if that's something you'd be interested in.
